Forums - Nintendo - New 3DS revision coming at E3! superchunky speculation

European and Japanese Nintendo sites advertise the original model just fine.

Not saying it's impossible, just that it doesn't have to mean anything.

I have a DS and so far i see litle to no reason to upgrade. I'm certanly that their next hanheld will have backward compatibility, so why bother? Even the zelda on the system don't really do anything for me so far.

But the biggest problem is related to a thing called circle pad pro. After DSi, i was sure taht nitnendo has no problem on releasing revision model that alienates part of its market, so I'm pretty sure that soon or later they will launch a system with 2 analogues, and when they do, I will reconsider purchasing one.

Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Never understood the cry for analogs. Pad works well and the system simply doesn't need dual analog. idk... just think that is the most minor thing.

3DS has a lot of great games. I'm not a portable guy, but my kids love theirs and we never have issues finding good games.

Imo it's quite clear they're going to get another redesign out. Sales are slowing down worldwide, so they need something to spur sales.
There aren't many games that will do that in any significant way, as basically all system sellers are out already (2D Mario, 3D Mario, Pokemon, 3D Zelda, top-down Zelda, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, Layton, etc.) Sure there are more to come (Smash, Pokemon remakes, Tomodachi Life), but I doubt those would significantly impact hardware sales for a sustained period of time.

Nothing to boost interest and sales like a new model. It'll happen.

3DS with port for grill, microwave or toaster

QoL confirmed!

Though I believe the OWL life leak teased an exclusive deal for the George Foreman Grill.

Please understand!

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I'm not saying that i have a problem with it, I'm saying that developers will have a problem with it. There is a good amount of DSi games out there that i can't enjoy because i have old revision, and this is not something that i'm confortable about. As soon as a revision with 2 analogs come out, games only playable with 2 stick will come out too, and for the OG owner they will just say: get a CPP.

Nintendo won't add a dual analog setup unless its a completely new handheld console. Not a revision.

In preparing for it's next gen nintendo will make the new 3ds revision have two analog controls and compatible as a wii u controller. It'll also have pressure sensitive shoulder buttons so that mario sunshine can be emulated

You won't be able to play Ace Attorney 5 though...

I hope for swappable buttons with the option to have a dual analog setting, better cameras and better battery life.
It should have a classy deign and better speakers (original 3DS still has the best ones). Quite the opposite of the 2DS.

Same screen size as the 3DS with the price of the 3DS XL.
