Forums - Gaming - Mobiles are the only futureproof gaming devices

The PS4, Xbox One and well the wii U we know they have not been built for 10 year lifespans. they all are are good consoles in their own right. But are they more designed at cashing in for the short term. the XO is aiming to set the world on fire with its capturing of the casual markets which can boost sales as the Wii proved last gen. The Wii U and PS4 are targeted primarily towards the hardcore fanbase with the games that they offers.

However the future of gaming is with Mobiles which will push graphics to the highest limits. No old medium, they offer the highest technology.
Internet browsing and more importantly instant access to thousands upon thousands of games. and much cheaper to replace.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

PCs exist.

Mobiles are lightyears behind consoles and PCs, and will not have caught up to X1 and PS4 by the time they are replaced. If they are the future I need to consider finding a new hobby

Absolutely false. Total garbage. Try playing any new iPad/Android games on the first iPad/first Android. Most cases, the device isn't even support. And if so, you're totally gimped.

Mobile as a gaming device has a much shorter lifespan than an actual handheld/console.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I won't concede that mobile games can reach the same depth of control and finesse as consoles or PCs can achieve. As much as some people have a massive, raging erection for the mobile market, gamers interested in a more complete experience will not magically cease to exist or just move over to a medium where gaming is an after thought at best.
And if someone tells me "You can play it with a controller silly", then I would basically just own a console with a touch screen. Which to me seems to defeat the whole purpose of mobile.

So no...gaming, on consoles or PC, is not what I see going away anytime soon. If anything I expect the mobile gaming bubble to burst eventually.

Big screen. Nuff said.

The Future was better in the old days

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Yes, $600+ phones that are replaced yearly are the future. I can see it all now. MS and Ninty should follow apple and samsung and make new models of their consoles every year and offer subsidy contracts for cheaper prices.

No.

I love it when people fail to realize that there is a massive core gaming community out there and there is no sign of them being the last generation of people who actually enjoy quality games.
