Separating the two (handheld and console), I see this gen being the death of console and next gen, the death of handhelds. I think handhelds are one gen behind consoles in that Japan.

Whether you like it or not, mobile is their new overlord.

The biggest revelation from this thread, is that X360 has sold 1.6 million units in Japan.

I agree. Besides Vita may sell not even close of PSP but its improving and X1 has to release yet (even though won't make a big difference). If gaming decline there will be mostly because of the wii fad and vita failing.

I'm thinking all consoles will sell aprox 50m combined which is bad compared to previous gens but not awful

He's talking about people losing their jobs when is completely false. Japan has the lowest unemployment rate of all developed countries. I live in Japan and i have 3 part time jobs. 3!!! And if i want i can get another, there're offers everywhere. If somebody doesnt work in japan is because he doesnt want to.

the reason of japan's decline is this:

japan is not declining, is growing lol

IMO , its only in decline because there are no games on either machines that attract the japanese, Most likely reason why ps4 is selling poorly there.
