I started the serie with Pikmin 3, absolutely adore the gameplay and the beautiful HD environments. I'm glad I gave it a try, so the third game for me.

I'm absoultely disappointed that the majority of people like Pikmin 3 over Pikmin 2. I mean, yeah, I really love Pikmin 3 as well, but come on, it looked horrible (that floor, dude), it lacks of content in almost every possible way and its music it's godamn awful. You may say it's kind of opinion, and you're right, but Pikmin 3 isn't exactly a sequel, it's just a reboot of the original game, I was expecting a real sequel like Pikmin 2 was.
But the good thing is that the low budget nature of Pikmin 3 may represent profit for Nintendo, hence the announcement of more sequels is more possible.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I'll do Zelda for Sure! I'll even break it down into 3 parts |
Do we really need a thread for every franchise, much less a thread for every possible categorization of games in a franchise? Just put them all in one thread! I mean holy shit, if you tried to do Mario, you'd need like 30+ threads! Mario could have threads for the Mario franchise as a whole, 2D Mario, 3D Mario, 3D Land/World Mario (people think of these differently), Mario platformer remakes, a total for Mario platformers, Mario Kart, Mario sports as a whole, a thread for each Mario sport (golf, baseball, soccer, tennis, basketball, Olympic games, etc.), Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi RPGs, a total for Mario RPGs, Mario Party, Dr. Mario, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, misc. Mario games (like Mario Picross, Mario Pinball Land, Mario Paint, or Mario DDR), and that's just for Mario himself. Then there's Luigi's Mansion, the Mario Is Missing games, a Luigi game total, Wario platformers, Wario Ware, a Wario total, Yoshi puzzle games, Yoshi platformers, a Yoshi total, other spinoff platformers (like Super Princess Peach), a spinoff total, and that doesn't include all the comparisons you could do. You could have a NSMB/ original SMB comparison, a comparison by system, Mario/other character comparison, genre based comparison, you get the idea. To accurately represent the Mario franchise you'd have to do a lot of threads, even if you tried to condense the ones I listed.
And it's not just Mario either. Zelda has the Four Sword series, spinoff games (Link's Crossbow Training, Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, etc.) the different timelines, the different art styles, 3D vs. 2D, console vs. handheld, and so on. I advise you just put ALL the metascores from ALL the franchises you want to do in one thread somehow. Maybe have them all categorized by franchise in one post, then in the next draw whatever comparisons you think are interesting, like 2D/3D, platform, genre, etc.

While I agree Pikmin 2>Pikmin 3...
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Holy shit, this. EXACTLY this. I'd add on that I preferred the controls of the first two much more so. I guess the bit about the budget is a nice way of looking at it, but I too was quite disappointed. I think as time goes on and the hype around the game and urge to defend the Wii U dies down, Pikmin 2 will be remembered as the better game.

wishful think my friend....only thing i liked more in pikmin 2 was the multiple save files, but still all three games are so good its hard for me to choose a favorite. Heres hoping they continue making more pikmin games as it's my second favorite nintendo franchise behind zelda

You obviously haven't played Pikmin 1 then...they had multiple saves then too. There is absolutely nothing about 3 that I like better than 2, except perhaps the graphics, but that's nothing a remake couldn't fix. A remake would probably ruin it though, because they'd probably change the controls, and Pikmin 3 controls were ass.
Absolutely loved the first two games! Will soon be getting Pikmin 3 for free with MK8, but of course that means I wont actually play it for a good long while hehe!
