Will Third Parties Ever Return to Wii U?

Yes 109 33.23%

No 217 66.16%

Total:326

So I was wondering about what many 3rd parties said about the Wii U. Some said that they wont develop for it because of its low install base. Far Cry 4 and AC Comet were announced for all but Wii U. Ubisoft has been supportive of the Wii U but that has come to an end or will after Watch Dogs. Well what happens if Watch Dogs sells well. Will third parties come back? How about if Mario Kart 8 sells 2 million Wii Us in like the first month? What will happen?

Third-party support is dying alongside the multi-generation games. Once we really go full 8th gen, it's over for the Wii U - it's not worth it make a vastly inferior version of your game, regardless of install base (just look at the Wii). Absolutely nothing can change that, the Wii U's fate is already sealed.

Maybe someone will give the wiiU another shot but then they will realize that only Nintendo games sell on the wiiU and then never come back to it

At this point it really don't matter. I know why I brought a Wii U for.

Party and family games will continue coming to the console. If you mean things like Far Cry, then no, I don't think 12m units would be enough to get any meaningful number of those kind of games on the system.

Some would. Not all of it though.

Anyway, speaking of Assassin's Creed, I'm sure we will be getting one of the AC games this year. Third partys like taking their time to announce Wii U ports.

Bets:

1. If the Wii U sells closer to 10 million LTD by 1/3/2015 I win. If it sells closer to 9.5 million LTD by 1/3/2015 OfficerRaichu15 wins (winner gets 2 weeks of avatar control)--Lost.

No. Nintendo consoles don't get a substantial amount of third-party support, period. If they sell well, they get some terrible ports or general shovel-ware with the possibility of some gems. If they sell bad, they get hardly any ports, a very small amount of shovel-ware, and hardly any gems.

It's not a win-win situation. It'll only be a losing situation for Nintendo and third-parties. It doesn't happen, it never will.

If Nintendo hardware sells or not, no. Nintendo is kinda doing the right thing now. Instead of funding developers for games, they should be their own 1st-2nd-3rd party and just get bigger. They already has some of the best franchises in gaming.

I think third party will increase when the Wii U's sales/install base increases. However, is 12 million units enough? Perhaps. I'm no expert, though.

Basic concert band instruments: piccolo, flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, double bass, and percussion.

Wii sold 100 million units. But it didnt attracted third parties like ps3 or xbox 360. So this is an unlikely scenario.
