Sony took 3 years to end that arrogance. Microsoft did stopped it before the XBO even launched. Sony.

So you associate price with arrogance? LOL. The blu ray drive was a format. It couldnt be taken out so the price had to be dropped. It still outsold the 360's first year due to demand. What Kaz Hirai said was arrogance. The console was fine but overpriced even though it sold fairly well for its price. Sony learned their lesson from feeling because saving Blu Ray was hurting them. They hurt themselves more than they hurt fans. It Microsoft would never hurt themselves for a product before they hurt fans. They would make you pay with it for every cent in your pocket and they've proven it time and time again with Xbox Live Gold and its old sensibilities and the DRM they had planned for us. They also wanted to force Kinect on us. Something they knew wouldn't stick like last gen, so they decided to force us to have it.

Not sure why they MS quote is receiving so much hate, they are right, why else would multiplats sell more on 360.

This is about ps3 and x1, not xbox 360.

Atleast the hardware in the PS3 was worth the price and Sony were not ripping us off. It was also the cheapest blu-ray player for a long time.... the technology which MS tried to screw but are now using it themselves.

the xbone on the other hand is a complete rip off, the camera is not worth as much as they claim and even after removing it from the bundle, MS insist the xbone alone should cost as much as a PS4. what a joke.

In terms of anti-consumer policies, the xbone beats any other product in history and will be keeping the crown for a long time to come.

Some could argue Sony shoehorned it in to corner the movie box sales market. Due to DVD loading faster, mandatory installs for many PS3 titles and what not......the odd 360 game having multiple disks isn't reason enough to justify making a $599 console.

The joke is Sony took you all for a ride and you act like it was all in your best interest, while MS solved their biggest cons before the consoles launch, and the rest, 6 months after. It took Sony 2 years to cover up their arrogance

If the advantages of DVD really did outweigh that of blu-ray, then MS wouldnt be using blu-ray on the X1.

Anyway PS3 wasnt just $599 because of blu-ray. The cell processor also played a part of it and that was developed with the best intentions of the core gamer in mind and it paid off because even though it was getting weaker multiplatforms, it was still able to destroy the 360 on exclusives. It is what let PS3 beat the 360 and give sony a great foundation to launch the PS4 on.

Now MS have had a go at a premium priced console and surprise surprise, they are trying to cash in on the casuals with weak hardware and motion controls which now no-one cares about. They never had the best intentions of the core gamers OR the casual gamers and the number of quality kinect games tells you that (are there even any?).

Yes, because game file sizes this gen comapred to last is identical.......lol cmon that is a rookie mistake on your part. The cell was a failure, considering 3rd parties supply 90%+ of a consoles library. Geographical brand loyalty of Japan let PS3 beat 360, not the Cell. Please.

MS under Don Mattrick may not have put us first, but it sure seems like they do now, and they turned it around in less time then Sony did.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I know that people in here are probably gonna jump on me for this but I still say that Sony was worse than Microsoft when it came to damaging their own gaming brands. I will however say that Sony learned more from it's past mistakes than Microsoft did.

Sony's "two jobs" comment was pretty arrogant, but what Don Mattrick said regarding people with no internet connections  just tops 'em all!

Even. It seems the 3rd console is always cursed.

your DVD vs blu-ray logic is sounding a lot like your 32mb esRAM vs 8gb GDDR5 ram logic.

and please dont act like xbox doesnt benefit from geographical brand loyalty. rookie mistake on your part. please.

And if XB1 turning around faster than PS3 matters more than the mistakes they initially made, do you expect the X1 to make a faster recovery than the PS3 did?

In other words, despite PS3's screw ups and 1 year late, they matched (more or less) 360 by the time PS4/X1 launched. You praise MS on their rapid turnaround of the X1 and its not a year behind PS4, so do you expect it to catch up by the time PS4 and x2 come out?

I know the answer in your head (not the one you will type) and thats the true reflection of who really screwed up more.

According to VGC the 360 has only sold more software globally than the PS3 6 out of the last 70 weeks (that's as far as i bothered to check), soooo...
