Nintendo easily since both are from japan and my preferred gaming brands but I'm not sure if they are interested or could buy it.

And if Samsung ever decided to enter the graphics field (as in your scenario), they would either compete with AMD or buy them out. AMD's net worth is 4 billion dollars, not three. If someone wanted to buy AMD, they wouldn't get it for 4 billion dollars. They would have to pay a lot more. AMD could easily sell for as high as 10 billion dollars. The reason is that AMD is in a very strategic position right now. The consoles are all dependent on AMD for their hardware, and AMD has a duopoly on the graphics market with Nvidea. Remember how Facebook bought WhatsApp for 19 billion dollars, and Oculus Rift for 6 billion? AMD is much more essential and in a better position than either of those. |
Another benefit of samsung buying AMD is that they would immediately put AMD's CPU engineering team out of misery. AMD doesn't need such a lame ass CPU team ruining them further.
What's your source ? According to the new york stock exchange AMD's market capitalization is 3 billion dollars. AMD would only be worth 5 billion dollars at best since they have a history of being a liability.
Bought by Samsung

Same thing happens when Nintendo post financial results. Except these are considerably worse for a company worth less

Anyway, Samsung is a trash company who makes cheap products. Had to get rid of my Galaxy phone because of bugs. Know people whose TV and tablets have been defective too. |
You just wait and see!

You see, if MS were to buy a creative company, then MS in turn becomes creative by default. Since, you know, they would employ creative people for their purposes only

ok that would be funny. PS fans defending Facebook as much as they defend Sony now. How Zuckerberg will attain mythological status and Kaz would be tossed aside.
This would happen regardless with any buyout. Just insert "random corporation" and "random corporation CEO" in place of Sony and Kaz and you have business as usual, without skipping a beat.

No. Rare has proven otherwise. Microsoft could buy all the creative companies in the world and wouldnt have a creative bone in their bodies simply because as a company they aren't creative. Their goals dont revolve around involving themselves in creativity, but rather owning products ghosts of creative companies once had. Its like having a zombie rather than the living being under your control
Nintendo has entities who could creatively control IP. Rare was better controlled by Nintendo collaboratively than Microsoft. Donkey Kong country, Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie? Nintendo gave creative input and watched out for creative control back in those days even though the two companies no longer saw eye to eye
Its the same reason Bungie wanted out from Microsoft. All they want to do is rehash the same game instead of allowing their companies to be creative and develop new content. Its halo forever.

Samsung has similar values to sony in that they both try to offer premium products, and Samsung don't have a gaming division, but with playstation + samsung, I think it could be a strong force. I hope the studios wouldn't be sold seperately, like the THQ departure, but I do hope Kaz sells it to someone good, if it comes to it. |
I won't see any Japanese pride going to South-Korea. A better scenario is that the Japanese government will give Sony financial support. Like GM in America

Rather Valve or Nintendo.
