You see, if MS were to buy a creative company, then MS in turn becomes creative by default. Since, you know, they would employ creative people for their purposes only |
No. Rare has proven otherwise. Microsoft could buy all the creative companies in the world and wouldnt have a creative bone in their bodies simply because as a company they aren't creative. Their goals dont revolve around involving themselves in creativity, but rather owning products ghosts of creative companies once had. Its like having a zombie rather than the living being under your control
Nintendo has entities who could creatively control IP. Rare was better controlled by Nintendo collaboratively than Microsoft. Donkey Kong country, Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie? Nintendo gave creative input and watched out for creative control back in those days even though the two companies no longer saw eye to eye
Its the same reason Bungie wanted out from Microsoft. All they want to do is rehash the same game instead of allowing their companies to be creative and develop new content. Its halo forever.
