So, unless I have an actual quote from Microsoft or solid numbers, I can't prove that the internet laughed at Microsoft over that promotion?
Just look at the comments on any thread or aticle on that issue. People were disgusted.

Why do I care that people laughed at it online? People laughed at the Wii when it was revealed. People laughed at the Hunger Games movies but they have profited hundreds of millions of dollars.
Again, it's very simple. You stated in a factual manner that the promotion was not just a failure but a "magnificent" failure. So I just wanted to know your source. If you want to move the goal posts and say it was a magnificent failure at some place on the Internets then go ahead.

The internet backlash came at the worst possible point for Microsoft, that is why it was a "magnificent failure"
And people laugh at everything. They just happened to laugh at this a lot more, and seeing as that the One isn't gaining ground on the PS4 due to the move, yes, it very much was a failure.
If you won't belive me without your so called factual evidence, fine. It's pretty obvious though that Microsoft lost a lot more than it gained with that move, as it was a luaghingstock for a while after it.

There aren't more indie games on the PS3 your forgetting about the mega ton of super cheap (self published and developed) indie games that are on the 360 those count also.

Microsoft's policies on indie games have alienated self-publishers, and Sony has a lot more self-publishing developers now, with more indie games bing released every day for both the PS3 and the Vita. The 360 is not an indie-friendly platform, and I encourage you to prove me otherwise.
