Final Fantasy XIII (PS3 ONLY) - 5.14M

Final Fantasy XIII (PS3 AND Xbox 360) - 7.20M 

 

Kingdom Hearts - 5.85M

Kingdom Hearts 2 - 4.07M

 

And you say these games didn't sell well ? Are you even serious ?

Also, the PS3 easily has the 360 beat in terms of exclusive games. The amound of JRPGs being released now is amazing, and Persona 5 is coming out next year.

I wouldn't put much stock in a program that didn't last too long. Just saying in 2014, not any years prior, 2014, 360 has Titanfall and PS3 has what....some super niche Japanese titles?

The 360 has a much bigger library of online games then the PS3 both full retail and arcade and indie titles not to mention it also has tons more other content music, movies, tv shows and the likes.


I'm confused. How does what you just said have any relevance to the argument that they are no longer making an attempt to keep the 360 alive? We aren't talking about backlogs here and people like me have already played all the XBLA games they are interested in. They have slowed down on releasing arcade games, that is a fact.

Also not to call bullshit on what you just said but I would seriously doubt that is true. I KNOW the Playstation network has movies and television downloads. But I also know they have a big library of PS1 and 2 games you can buy. Maybe if you could give some numbers or evidence?

Now you're just spouting nonsense. The FF XIII trilogy sold 8 million on the PS3 alone. Final Fantasy X sold 6.6 million (and that was only of 2004). Final Fantasy XII sold 6 million. Bravely Default sold around 1 million. Dark Souls sold around 3 million. And guess what? At least half, if not more, of those sales were in the west.

JRPGs are not niche. Not even close. 


Sure keep on living in denial.  But the reallity is that they are a niche genre.  If they where not then a majority of people on this site would know who the chararter in my avatar is.  Also 8 million across three titles really isn't much every major FF title on the PS1 sold more then that by itself.

Oh man when did Microsoft announce it was a "magnificent" failure? I missed that press release, do you have a link?

Also, ITT we learn that a majority of VGChartz posters don't understand corporate speak. Which is weird considering many of the ones in this thread lashing out about it are actually huge fans of Playstation products.
