Watch Dogs will be a hit, but it won't get a higher score than MK8.
And to be honest, I hope MK8 will also be a hit, and will boost the WiiU sales for good.

I can't help myself but everytime I see Watch Dogs I think it looks like a 75-85 game and Mario Kart should beat that. But maybe Watch Dogs has more to offer as what they showed in every single video (hacking, hacking and sometimes hacking) and it will score much better then.

I mean, I get that this game is build around this hacking stuff but it sounds kinda boring if this will be the main reason to play the game for more than 5 hours. If the rest of the game will have some nice stuff besides this and as long as the missions/story are good, it can get a very high score.

MK8 is 80-90% old ideas with fresh paint. Mario Kart has always boiled down to a whole lot of luck and very little driving skill imo.

While this one side results tell us something, i don't agree that they really show the truth about the metacritic scores.

MK only hited 90+ one time, on DS, but it will hardly be under 80 too.
Watch Dogs lost a lot of the hype around it and if it is of the same quality that Assassins Creed, than it will be something between 75~85.

Overall i give the edge to MK8, but it will be close.

The bolded part is what Mario Kart has always been.  The better the player you are, signfied by current place, the more you get penalized.  In order to make sure you win, you're forced to sandbag  The game is developeded to give people who suck at video games an advantage and have a chance to place higher in the race.
