For me, Nintendo will always be synonymous with video games; it has and always will be my default.

Just wondering... what's up with the title?
You're Gonna Carry That Weight.
Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC
I think EA is the most consumer oriented and consumer friendly company. They can not do any wrong and they have ensured that the systems I play get adequate support. If it wasn't for pesky Valve, they would be providing us with the best digital distribution platform the universe has to offer.

Games like Super Mario World, F-Zero, A Link to the Past, and Street Fighter II really set the stage for me. Then came Turok, Shadows of the Empire, GoldenEye, and especially Mario 64 and Ocarina. I just kept going with Nintendo because it supported so many of my favorite genres, specifically shooters, platformers, and action-adventure games. Around 2008 I started thinking about getting a 360, in large part to play BioShock, Gears, and the new Banjo and BG&E games. That opened the floodgates. Since then I've bought PSOne, PS2, PS3, PSP, PSV, Xbox, X360, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, 3DO, and Jaguar.
Some of my favorite PS games include Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 1-3, Devil May Cry, Medal of Honor, Abe's Oddysee, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, etc. Some of my favorite MS games include Halo, Fable, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, Ninja Gaiden, and BioShock. Favorite Sega games are Shining, Panzer Dragoon, and NiGHTS.
There are great games to be had everywhere, but overall I prefer the games available on Nintendo systems. The internal studios in Kyoto and Tokyo just have a little extra magic in their games.
I prefer sony. They always make the system I want more. Over time, it's turned into a bias because the other companies constantly do things that I don't agree with.
I'd buy whatever machine has Halo and Gears.
Simple as that.

Back in the day when I started playing on the ps1 I really loved crash bandicoot and Spyro, without mentioning series like tekken or final fantasy which got popular outside of japan due to the colaboration between square and sony. I'm really greatful for that.
Then in the PS2 era I discover Gran Turismo, easily one of my favorites franchises ever. There were other games I liked: SoTC, ratchet trilogy, god of war and several third party games. And with ps3 Infamous, lbp, uncharted, puppeter.. in conclusion I have always preferred Playstation for its first and third party offerings.
I like most Nintendo games as well, but in some way I felt a little defrauded with wii/ds. My top franchises should be Fire Emblem, zelda, donkey kong, all mario games with paper mario on top, metroid, Smash and a long etc.
I have never really owned a Microsoft system, but not because I hate them or something, just there hasn't been enough games for me how to purchase one. But certainly some of their franchises got my attention: Forza, Fable, Halo, Lost Odyssei, Alank Wake and now I'm looking forward to Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive.
Final Fantasy made me choose PS3. Infamous, GOW, and Motorstorm greatly confirmed my choice to be the right one. Of course it also helped that MS didn't produce anything in those 7 years that would've made me want a 360.
I may have skipped the Wii(after owning a N64 and GC) but definitely gonna go with WiiU because Nintendo.

Sony is simply one of this companies that makes some of things I want while being the only one who makes them:
1) PS3: MAG, Demon's Souls, LBP, Heavy Rain, and The Last Of Us all say hi. Games like these were never there before or since they were release.
2) SmartWatch: Sony is the ONLY smartwatch manufacturer who seems to get that I want my watch to be waterproof, last all day on battery, cost under $200, and little else. I don't need android on MY WATCH!
3) PSP/Vita: I want console-level gaming on the go. Period.
I could go on and on. Yeah, they have made some seriously stupid business decisions lately, but without them there would be a little less spark in the world in my opinion.
