Watch dogs total preorders as of 3rd May:

Ps4: 295k
Xone: 202k
X360: 128k
Ps3: 117k
= 742k
And that's only for US, so:

flop confirmed

Edit, forgot PC version: 55k

=797k

Still a flop imo

800k at least opening life time confirmed.

Fixed that for you :)

...How did you not get the blatant sarcasm?

I've now seen that trailer 20 times...is anyone else kinda worried about the camera at 2:09?  He kinda glitches out and that car appearing seemed unatural...that's a terrible word to describe it but I can't think of anything better.

Did I quote you by mistake? It was meant daredevil.

Yes, there is a clear issue in the camera movement, I have notice that in the reveal, the game is still in the development and far away from release. I don't think it would be an issue.

Nope

I agree FFXV will be a major dissapointment, but I really doubt it will be a flop. That depends how many copies does SE needs to break and to have a profit.

As for the rest, Titanfall is hardly a flop, granted it didn't light the charts on fire but it has healthy legs and good sales.

That aside, I think you should specify how many copies are considered a flop since it can be a little confusing.

3DS FC :  4339 - 3326 - 7693. Add me :) Nickname Tin

I think Destiny is in the worst shape, but I could be wrong. All I can say from looking at it is that I personally am not interested.

Watch Dogs had marketing which no game could reasonably live up to, but it still could be a solid game. It will sell well on that old E3 hype alone. Whether or not it leaves fans disappointed (and I think it will) is another question entirely.

The Last Guardian is likely going to be another cult classic. Only a madman would give Ueda a massive budget because he simply doesn't make games which need them, or at least he hasn't in the past. I have a hard time seeing him *not* breaking even because he's not a 20 million dollar budget kind of guy.

FF XV will probably be a solid RPG. I'm becoming skeptical that the gameplay will be good, but the story premise has a lot more potential than any FF game in a long time. It will probably have a strong initial sell even if it's a poor game. The question is if it will get the positive word of mouth to keep selling at MSRP six months after launch and to push a XV-2 or XVI, and that's anybody's guess.

The ignorance in this thread is too strong.

Western RPGs are to rule. Games like Final fantasy that are still stuck in 90s turn based era needs to go away. Industry needs to get rid of these garbage.

This statement makes no sense since all the critisism about XIIIs gameplay is because it strayed too far from the formula. Ppl have to stop acting like XIII/XIII-2 and Lightning Returns are crap just because they dont like it, there are plenty of ppl that loved all 3 me included.

I think the problem was the story and the characters. At least that's what my flatmate keeps telling me whenever he plays it. And from the little that I got to play FF13, I'd have to agree. He said the battle system was the best in any RPG he's ever played. As for the general consensus, I'm not sure but I've seen quite a few people complaining about both the battle system and the characters, so who knows.

Am I the only one who preferred Ico to Shadow of the Collusus. I didn't understand Shadow of the Collusus at all and it seemed very repetitive.

I agree more with your view on Destiny, i actually hope your right to make the smug bastards at Activision never waste that kind of money on a game again. Half a billion dollars is just overkill for a game.

I hope Watch_Dogs is more successful though but i struggle to see how they can turn it into a franchise, it seems like a one off game.

While, yeah it has been too long for FF XV and the Last Guardian and they may struggle because of that.

But honestly what are people's expectations of sales for these games? Surely not everything can sell 10 or 20 million copies can it? Even 5 may not be possible for some of these. I remember 1 million sales being good enough for a sequel and this was only when PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 first came out! Not that long ago

The word flop is thrown around too much these days

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

'When the people are being beaten with a stick, they are not much happier if it is called the people's stick'- Mikhail Bakunin

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

So...it's come to this...

Only The Last Guardian can potentially flop. The rest will be a success.
