Forums - Gaming - Why Destiny, Watch dogs, FFXV and The Last guardian will flop. [UPDATE]

I love thread resurrections. I wonder if this thread will be remembered when FFXV gets released in 2018.

Flamingweazel?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

FFXV sold PS3's when people thought it was exclusive and it will sell next gen consoles in Japan.

Yep, it is still a  big franchise.

So are people here being serious when they say 4m is a flop?

Well, I am certainly not interested in ffxv.  Xiii killed the franchise for me, and everything i have seen on xv makes me think it will be worse.  Still, I would never say xv would be flop.  Heck, I wouldnt be surprised if it actually ended up selling more than xiii...

- FFXV : Final Fantasy is a dead brand by now. It still can sell copies, but unfortunately FFXV is somewhat linked to FFXIII in mainstream audience's mind. Even from intersted gamers, FFXV is still versus XIII. This game has been made to be FFXIII mirrored version, made by the same company. Even if they scheduled to release on different time, people will never forget those two games were created at the same time. I have seen trailer, I have seen gameplay video, I was hyped as shit since the first trailer of this game. But time has passed, something like 8 fucking years. Gamers are waiting like dead starving werewolf around the corner, and this game is a sheep. FFXV is the last chance gamers are giving to the main FF license. Gamers and critics will not forget a single framedrop.
From what I've seen of this game, everything seem to screen previous generation. Corridor, closed space, loading time between map, crappy animation, cheesy dialogue, ill at ease kind of cutscene, no sensation, shitty storytelling quality... And I truly hope I am wrong because if you can fight like the first trailer show us, it would be enough for me. But I don't know if that would be enough for the werewolf inside of us all who want to eat Square Enix alive for all the bad they've done.

The creators of this game had nothing to do with FFXIII with the exception of Nomura so saying that XV will be a failure because of XIII is dumb.

FFXV is going to be everything the past 3 FF games weren't, a true FF game with Type-0/KH mix combat.

XV is already confirmed open world with drive able airships and vehicles with your classic enemies such as behemoths and leviathans. The story is going the route as the older FF games, a story about crystals, which is fine. And Nomura is directing so the story can't be all that shitty.

The game didn't start development until 2011. That's 3 years, not 8.

I won't comment about the shitty animation.

Seems like the last "talent" at SE is making this game.

"Nomura is directing so the story cant be all that shitty"

Have you played a Kingdom Hearts game before?

Well so far you're wrong about Watch Dogs. You'll be wrong about Final Fantasy and Destiny. The Last Guardian could go either way. If it sales 1 million or more copies then I'd consider it a success, if it sales less than that then yeah it would be a flop.

Watch dogs total preorders as of 3rd May:

Ps4: 295k
Xone: 202k
X360: 128k
Ps3: 117k
= 742k
And that's only for US, so:

flop confirmed

Edit, forgot PC version: 55k

=797k

Still a flop imo

Preorders have never equated to game sales, my friend.

True, but a game with lets say 1mill preorders, doesn't sell let's say 50k on opening :)

Well, it's been known to happen before. Never go by preorder sales.

Some flop
