Forums - Gaming Discussion - What is the biggest meltdown in gaming history?

Bungie splitting from MS definitely needs to be on the list, that was a thoroughly amusing few days.

I'd say FF13 on the 360 caused the biggest meltdowns. That one was absolutely hilarious xD

I had put it on the first list (before a refresh trashed it), will re-include, thanks for the heads up.

I forgot about DQ IX.

And it's funny that Snake is in SSB when no MGS were released on a Ninty plat on the gen (and besides MG, they were all lat ports).

Don't remember much meltdown as I remember skepticism from some, and of course the meltdown came from Wii selling more than the competition combined.

Yeah, the Wii selling as well as it did (and the PS3 struggling as much as it did) definitely led to a break in the status quo. And games hate anything out of the norm. This site got some amazing stuff in Wii's heyday (insert obligatory Leo-J shoutout). ^_^

And the Kojima/Nintendo fan relation is always in flux. So is the natural order of things.

I just started visiting on 2009 so I haven't saw the heydays, when I entered Sony was on recovery.

I've to agree with some of the users about FF XIII going multiplat. I even remember seeing the news on the local newspaper.

Final Fantasy XIII on 360.

2008 was absolutely bonkers, when gamers everywhere were wondering when the Wii's bubble would burst. That, coupled with the release of Grand Theft Auto IV, led many to believe that Wii's reign was over. But then Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl released and the system sold like gold plated hotcakes (despite the infamous E3 performance...).

Good times, good times...

It seems it isn't even a discussion...

Evil Square-Enix don't give us opportunities to see other meltdowns as important. Maybe it's the reason the are going south recently....

Now for what do you think would be the biggest ever???? Let you imagination be free.... Main Mario in a Sony platform or MS? Which would generate more meltdowns?

Bad thing that the acceleration also stopped really abrupt and got Ninty unprepaired and generated all the problem for WiiU being slow burning.
