Surely karts will have that option aswell. Maybe its a special part? Might make you lose speed as a trade off or something.

It would be a terrible gaffe if the bikes had a distinctive advantage over the karts.

As Andre said, only certain Bikes have inside drift.

I see. I hadnt watched the video on the link. Well... it doesnt seem to be that bad. The new bikes makes you abort the power slide, so its somewhat more balanced.

The dev at the Direct explained that Karts are faster, and Bikes (I guess sport Bikes to be specific) are better at curves... so they made sure that there is no OP vehicle (unless you somehow exploit the track selections)

That's a good point I'd forgotten about that! The difference between each vehicle type's top times were pretty marginal aswell, so hopefully that means it will hardly be a factor in worldwides. That goes both ways btw! I don't want Karts being uber OP either, as I prefer Bikes afterall!

Oh that was just because he wasn't steering lol. He simply needed to tilt the control stick to the right a bit to avoid running into the fence.

Well... either way lets just hope things are balanced. If not, hopefully Nintendo patches it.

I sure as hell am gonna use a kart regardless. :P

I feel like at worst, the balance will be like that of MK7, which would be perfectly fine as despite there being an overused combo, which is kind of an inevitability anyway, you could still use any combo you wanted and have a fair shot at winning assuming even skill levels!

It looks kinda hard to control, TBH. I'll bet it won't be overpicked online because it starts outside but throws you off when it suddenly goes inside. Also, none of the bikes seem to have a speed boost stat, so karts will still be the way to go.

Bet you thought I forgot about this post lol.

Anywhos, I'm sure you'll be able to get used to how it controls with time! Also, raw speed is not everything! They made a point in the Direct how Bikes can drift better, hence they'll finish faster than Karts on courses with lot's of turns! Looking at the game's tracks, all of them have turns, but not all have many straight-aways. I mean you can literally drift through the entirety of some courses like Sunshine Airport and Music Park, but there's no track you can drive straight through. So it seems like Bikes will actually have the advantage more often than not. However the time difference between the vehicle types in the Direct's test were marginal, so player skill will still be the most important thing, as it should be! <(^_^<)

What made the bikes so damn annoying in MKWii were the wheelies, but since that issue doesn't exist in MK8, Inside Drifting doesn't really bother me!
