Literally nothing? Categorically wrong (or, don't use hyperbole).
There may not be enough benefit from the switchover, but there are important gains:
1) Better audience targeting. No more taking time out for business-y stuff (charts and graphs and discussions of development partnerships with little bearing on current developments). Digital Event focused on the gamers excises that crap.
2) Better prepared speakers. No more "errs" and "ahhs" as happens with far too many of the on-stage folks. A nice, smooth, rehearsed experience.
3) No technical glitches. Like Skyward Sword at E3 2010 where it looked like the motion controls were an unplayable mess due to signal interference, or Crimson Dragon last year where the audio cut out for that part of the feed, and we were left with a few very awkward minutes.
(the reply above mine also is a relevant response here).

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Yes, like that one. My body is ready, RIIIIIIIDGE RACER! Enemy Crab...........Usher. lol
Live presentations only work if the content is really good, content is easily presented, and the presenter has gravitas.
I never want to see another Nintendo press conference like the one they did @ E3 prior to the Wii U launch. You know, the one with the Nintendoland fireworks.
I'd rather see a digital event done well then a live one done poorly.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Remember the live conference they had for the WiiU launch? With Nintendoland fireworks? That was awful.

The MS conferences where they showcased all the Kinect games were also full of memorable lines!

I really want Nintendo and the others to do a press conference BUT I must say sometimes the conferences are so boring that I just don't want to watch some of them anymore. Just go and watch some old press conference on YouTube. Lame! Beside the big announcements there is so much unnecessary talking. So I would like them to do a digital event instead.
I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?
I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.
Press conferences have more impact, so I'll always prefer the live pressers.
