You don't need to have the PSN version of the game. You can buy it and enjoy it at retail for $60.

Is it not possible to fathom how some people could possibly have concern for the well being of others?

I have no problem with the game, I plan to try with PS+ and maybe buy it later on myself in the retail copy.

This "option" is bad, its either a mistake or an experiment, regardless its exploits consumer ignorance. Its that simple. I do not have a problem with Sony, DriveClub, or Evolution Studios. My only issue is with this "option". Drop the PS+ requirement. If PlayStation allows it, then I will still have a problem with it and PS by association.

Now comes Xbox One, which in turn, does even more to "trick" consumers into things they will surely regret.

No sane person would buy the PS+ Upgrade unless they don't know better (ignorant), they really value 10$, or they do not want the physical copy(some people are going digital only).

For the first they are being taken advantage of. Just like MS has been doing for years, hence the thread title and OPs article.

The Latter is even worse, because that touted "choice" does not exist for them. For them the game they paid for is locked behind a paywall.

This is a truly dangerous prescedent.

Insane person here. Here's my ignorant plan: I buy the 50$ upgrade and play it for a year and a half, since my subscription expires by then. If I still want the game, I can buy it either used or for less than a 10er in 2016, since even extremely popular games like Uncharted cost less than a 10er in a year or two. But, yeah, I must be insane. Or ignorant.

That does not even factor the possibility of not liking the game enough to want to keep playing it for years.

or...

THIS IDEA IS CRAZY! BE WARNED!

PS+ gives a 10$ discount to subscribers.

Um...no. If you buy the game at a discounted price it is yours. You obviously don't understand how PSN+ works.

Read the original post or check the psn blogs. it is what sony is stating about the 50 dollar paid for.version of this game, and why this thread was made, and why people disagree with it.

They are giving a F2P option with a discount to build the community for the new game. I've already read up about it. It worked for Killer Instinct and it will more than likely work for this game. If you have PSN+ its a no brainer to try this game unless you dont like racers. If you do like racers and hate online you can still buy the game at $60 retail. In truth this is actually great for selling digital copies because it sells the game at ten bucks off on Plus.

I'll just ignore the civil right rights post. heh

What well being am of others is Sony attacking? Please. You should've attacked PSN PLus long ago because they've been doing normal prices vs discounted prices for quite a while now. They just added F2P to the PSN+ list.

Wow, you just hit a low trying to draw a parallel between this and civil rights.

Clearly, you do not understand the point of an allusion.

Right, but if you download the free version and then like it, and pay 50 bucks to upgrade it to the full game, you can no longer play the full version you paid 50 dollars to own digitally if you ever cancel plus.

....Yeah...you really have no clue how PSN Plus works. I'm done with this. Keep believing you dont get to keep a discounted game that you purchased.

@porcupeth-- Not trolling. You are not understanding peoples complaint here. For digital version you have the free one with no limitation and the upgrade. With that you only get liek 10 or so tracks and 10 or so cars. However if you want the full 55 tracks , 50 cars and all 50 toour events you can upgrade the free digital version for 10 dollars less then if you choose to purchase the 60 dollars retail version. However when you upgrade to the full digital version ,, you need to keep your psn plus account renewed in order to access and play the game. Below is the quote from one of the game developers of drive club. he said : If you’re an active PlayStation Plus subscriber and have been playing the PlayStation Plus Edition, but decide you want the full DRIVECLUB experience, you can purchase a one-time upgrade for $49.99. This will give you access to all five locations, 55 tracks, 50 cars and all 50 tour events, as long as your PlayStation Plus subscription remains active. Thats the limitation and DRM that everyone is complaining about because not all buy physical copies

I don't understand why you keep bringing up Sony or PS+, I have repeatedily stated that:

1. PS+ discount have never been done in this fashion

2. This option is the only thing i have issue with

3. You are paying for DLC(advertised as the retail game) for 10$ less then the retail price of the game

4. The existence of this option will exploit consumer ignorance.

5. MS has been chastized for exploiting consumers for years

6. I have repeatidely argued in accoradance with number 5 and MS Fan defense of this practice on this site on multiple occasions

7. At least I am consistent, Just because its Sony does not mean they will not get the same amount of scruntity.

8. Open your eyes.
