This. Why would you deliberately deceive your fellow men by putting anal in the title? :(
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

You know who else did a lot of unpaid work? ioi.
I understand where you're coming from, but at least for me, I've been putting a lot of effort into unpaid work for years...and I'm sure there are at least a dozen like me on here. The problem is there's no cohesiveness. With a good group, we could turn all this unpaid work into very well paid work.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.
Interesting, veryyy interesting.
If it's starting out just for fun and sport sign me up.

I believe we could be doing a much better job. So, I'm looking for some of the best and brightest to form a new group dedicated to observing trends and predicting sales. Through sheer merit of the 10-week countdown and NPD prediction threads, I already know of a few. The goal is to create a group, discuss ideas, and write our own sales analyses...starting out just for fun and sport, and possibly later evolving into something more serious. Goals will be gathering data, identifying which significant events influenced sales. This will take research. Typically, we will go through one year and with data in hand scour the web to find what made sales go up from one week to the next. Using this set of influential factors, on top of our own ideas about trends, and predictive capabilities on price-drops, remodels, and games releases, I believe we can estimate with the best of them. This takes an extremely objective mind, as well as creativity and business sense. Anyone is free to join and prove their merit. :D Once we've found a group of starting members, I'll create a new thread for discussion, and we'll go from there. As always, thanks for reading. |
The IDC report said 51 million ps4's in 2016, not by 2016. And since later in the article they mention the Xbox One to be ahead in the U.S. at the end of 2016 the PS4 number is probably for the end of 2016 aswell. The topic that was made for the article simply stated it wrong in the title.
I'm bad at predictions, but am pretty good at finding numbers, putting them together, and creating stories out of them.
consider me interested.

Even so, 51m is high for end of 2016, and anyone here could tell you it's a pretty safe bet, likely within 10%. The point is, why should those guys be the ones selling analyses when those kind of statements should be second nature to anyone here.
