Depends what your gaming tastes are. For me, the better value is PS4+Vita.

I wouldn't rush out to get either one yet. Should get a better deal during Black Friday.

And the lack of a genuine online service, the substantially weaker hardware, the lack of movie playback, the need for an external drive if you want more storage, and the fact that the slightly more expensive choice comes with TWO dedicated game systems while the other comes with a cheap feeling Ipad that heavily gimps the already weaker hardware. Sometimes, people just refuse to tell the whole story so that they can get their way.
I would go for the PS4 by itself with a PS+ sub.
You get:
PS4
Dualschock 4
Black Light: Retribution (FREE)
Warframe (FREE)
DC Universe Online (FREE)
Mercenary Kings (FREE)
Resogun (FREE)
MUCH larger selection of 3rd party titles and F2P titles.
$450.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

It depends on your bias.

Eh, you could use the same argument for the Wii U exclusive games that won't be coming to the other consoles...
I was mentioning actual, objective costs...

Wii U. Too bad Nintendo decided against a simpler bundle to drop the price below 300$.
But on the other hand - having a WiiMote+ and a WiiWheel included is great to start local MultiPlayer in no time... . Thats why Nintendo included the physical copy of Mario Kart 8...
Can't say much about the PS4 bundle - Sony needs money badly. And as ALL PS4 sell almost instantly - it was foreseeable that they will try to raise the packages price. Using a Vita might be the combination which gives them the highest possible price without looking greedy...

I think I can handle storage much better than Sony. Why rely on a single cheap-cheap disk drive with it neither fast nor big?
Too bad they neither Nintendo nor Sony and Microsoft include the ability to use iSCSI storage via Ethernet...
BTW: "Weak hardware" - that also describes the PS4 compared to a todays mid range PC... As the Wii success already proved and the PS4 success shows - hardware specs doesn't matter if the price is right. Microsoft should simply lower theirs to get the XOne moving faster.
It depends on what your interests are. Price is not much of a problem if you're saving for either.
It's more than a bit unfair to compare them. The PS4 bundle is almost twice as much and has a fundamentally different kind of value. Let me break it down, though.
Total Cost of Ownership: Wii U
Between two consoles and PS+, it's clear that the Wii U will cost less than the PS4. The only place where the PS4 might edge out an advantage is the used game market, where it probably will have some cheaper after-market games, but unless you want to drop $2000 on after-market games that's not likely to make a big difference.
Titles: PS4/ Vita
It haz Party of third support.
Power: Irrelevant
Both consoles are likely powerful enough to do anything you want with a 1080p display. Naturally, they're pathetic compared to PCs, but PC resolutions can also go way higher than HDTV's, upwards of 1440p or 2560p. If power is really a concern, go PC and buy new hardware every other year from now on and play glitchy games like you're a glorified QA tester.
