This is based on my results from the annual top 50 games thread

1. Metroid Prime
2. Xenoblade Chronicles
3. Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars
4. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
5. Super Mario 64
6. Chrono Trigger
7. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX
8. Okami
9. Super Mario Galaxy 2
10. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

...and 3/10 are Wii exclusive. Go figure. I take back all the times I said that the DS is my favorite system, or that the SNES was better (although it's still close!) :P

Me? Biased?  Never. 3 games from my 11-20 have never ever appeared on a Nintendo system. ;)

All of those appear on PC via emulator (counts just as much as emulation on virtual console).

So clearly, you're a PC fan.

I am a PC fan, but I must admit that Nintendo has way better exclusives. Even if they're timed.

Not too much variety though... besides there are few games exclusives to wii and all of them can be played on pc :v

1. Action/adventure
2. RPG
3. RPG
4. Action/Adventure
5. Platformer
6. RPG
7. Action/Adventure
8. Action/Adventure
9. Platfomer
10. Action/Adventure

Well, there's a simple solution to that problem. People other than Nintendo need to start making better platformers, action/adventures, and RPGs.

Few Wii games make my top 50...

Personally I like games across action adventure, RPGs, survival horror, platformers, fighters, shooters, racers, rhythm and sports games.  Nintendo is not #1 for me, but part of what I love nevertheless.

What particular type of action/adventure do you like? I'm very picky when it comes to my absolute favorite genre.

I feel bad for you if every game on your top 10 list is on Nintendo, I don't care if you're biased or not lol. I'm not dissing or saying they are bad, but come on lmao.

Opinions? Who the hell needs them!

Furthermore, all 9 of them are also playable on Wii U, assuming Prime Trilogy is allowed to stand in for Prime.

Dat backwards compatibility.

That and Virtual Console make 7th and 8th gen Nintendo systems a great investment, that's for true :)

@FOX: good looking list! Makes me want to test my own.

  • Ocarina
  • Deus Ex
  • Halo: Combat Evolved
  • Resident Evil 4
  • Final Fantasy VI
  • Half-Life 2
  • Super Mario 64
  • Tomb Raider
  • Super Metroid
  • A Link to the Past
So that's 6 available on Wii. Not too shabby.

You shouldn't feel bad when someone's list of favorite games consists of excellent games. ;)

Lol, touche

Now, the real issue here isn't that those games are on Nintendo platforms. Heck, Okami stated out as a PS2 exclusive, and I first played it before it came out on Wii. Shadow of the Colossus is only on PS2/PS3, and it's my #11. The real problem is my overwhelming proclivity towards traditional action/adventure, JRPGs, and 3D platformers.

Which are all areas that Nintendo are exceptionally strong in.

... Why?

Nintendo platforms have held some of the best games of all time over the Years.

Some but not all.  It's ok to like whatever you want, but It's more a sign the player is biased or doesn't play much else.

Hardly.  I play on pretty much every platform, but if I made a top-10 it would be mostly Nintendo games, because, quite simply they are the best developer in the buisiness (in my opinion).  Games like TLoZ, SM3, SMG, Xenoblade, OoT, DKC... these are some of the very best gaming experiences I've ever had.  My top-10 might include games like FFIV, FFX, Contra, WoW, AoE2, Castlevania IV, Halo or other non-Nintendo games but it would be tough for many to crack the list of the best of the best.  A top-50, sure, that would include mostly non-Nintendo titles... though many would be available on Wii through the Virtual Console.

I'd also say most of my favorite games are playable on Nintendo systems (probably even my top 10)...while I enjoy games on other systems, they rarely tickle my fancy to the extent games on Nintendo consoles do. Although, there are games like Resident Evil 4 and Okami which are playable on other consoles...

Anyways, backwards compatibility is a pretty huge deal for me...It was the reason I jumped on the 3DS so soon and it was one of the big selling points of my Wii also. If the Vita had (physical) backwards compatibility I would likely jump on that too...

I'm done with this. Talking to you is like talking to a wall.
If these are his TOP 10, you get a idea of the ideals this person has for games. Drawing a conclusion from this makes sense because you actually have sources to draw back on. Lucky this is VG and I'll get a ban for stating how logical your comment is. Lol My point, YOU are trying to blow a simple deduction based off a top10 list out of proportion. I didn't say the games were bad. Why you're crying makes no sense. My opinion is completely valid for the circumstance. You've tried to combat my opinion with irrelevant things and a math problem. Who the hell cares how accurate or not I am? It's posted, I give my opinion and that's it. The info would comprise of 100 games if they wanted to hear what opinions people have on that. STOP WASTING BOTH OF OUR TIME WITH NON-SENSE BASED RESPONSES. Thank you.

Fine. Be that way, I don't care. Just know that you did exactly the thing you told other people not to do; easily draw conclusions.

For Nintendo games I like Super Metroid more than any on your list. Lots of good games though.
