It should easily sell more than 3D Worlds first week. I think even DKCTF sold around 250k in its first week. MK8 shouldnt have a problem passing that.

I would just like to point out that these numbers skyrocketed after the Direct, which shows pretty well how large of an impact Directs actually have ^.^
Anyways, I have no idea what to expect for week one...originally I was thinking 500K WW but with the aligned launches it could be much higher. We also have digital sales which will make the number look smaller than it really is @.@

Okay, it launches on a Friday. Can one of you tell me if these first week predictions are just for those 2 days or for the first full week ending June 7th?
For the record, everyone, Mario Kart Wii sold about 2.1 million worldwide aligned launch according to VGC

A little over a million combined for 2 days in Japan + Europe and a little over a million for 7 days in the US.
I'm not sure. It is a good sign but it isn't a guarantee.Let's hope the best.
I can't wait for this game but in Miiverse I can't see so many people hyped for this game. Maybe it is because there is no community for the fans like the Smash community but there are still not so many Mario Kart 8 posts. This could mean good hardware sale numbers but let's wait.

I meant that it will sell much more than a million, thus "it won't sell close to a million".
