So you have no problem adding fuel to the fire in a thread about a PS4 game being 1080p/30fps, but now that it's an Xbox game that may or may not be 800p, you feel the need to enact "preventative measures"?

If I'm not wrong CoD on Xbox outsold CoD on PS close to 3x times than what happened with Xbone vs PS4 version.

So I guess resolution matter after all.

Or if you didn't understand... PS4 CoD won a lot of market share (sales) over Xbone CoD.

It's pathetic that Microsoft decided to hobble their console with DDR3 and a low-spec GPU. It's the very reason that we're seeing so many sub-1080p titles, and that's unlikely to change for the life of the generation. It's even worse when you consider that for multi-plat games, if they're going to target 720p to 900p on XB1, then that exact title will always be higher resolution and/or framerate on PS4.

All the spin in the world won't change the fact that Microsoft spent too much BoM cost on extra non-core stuff, and it's going to make the XB1 a 2nd-rate place to play multi-plats for the entire generation.

They will live and die by their exclusives, as that is the only thing that can truly set them apart in a way that isn't a negative.

THIS.  It's pretty basic stuff.  For those of us who are not fanboys and own all consoles, it is not difficult to see which is outperforming which.  Also, just because something is being outperformed does not mean it is a terrible console or doomed or anything else on the fanboy list.

True. A game at 720p is not a bad thing if it's a great game. And it will take a while for most people to own both consoles, so someone with an XB1 isn't screwed by any means by having lower resolution variants in any major way.

Someone who isn't super excited about exclusives gets a better deal with the PS4 for sure considering you pay the same or less for better performance/visuals.

But we can't lie or ignore the fact that Microsoft made decisions that will haunt them for the life of the gen, decisions that guaranteed what we're seeing game after game.
