Forums - Movies & TV - The Amount Of Sony Product Placement In 'The Amazing Spider-Man' Sequel Is Ridiculous

Sony need every penny they can get right now so I don't blame for pushing their products in one of their most popular movie series.

There's even a giant Sony logo right before the movie even starts. What the hell, Sony?

SONY.

I was opened the first image to full size and looked for a few minutes didn't find any Sony products. The only one I could actually see was Sony after it was pointed out to me was a laptop. I didn't even know it was a laptop until the arrow pointed it out then I could read Vaio barely. The two arrows with the camera and the phone, I still couldn't identify them as Sony products but I'll go along with them being product placement.

The PS4 wasn't placed. I wonder why.

Is this a joke?

How the heck do you even know that phone or camera or desktop are Sony made? I mean I barely notice the Vaio laptop, but Sony's selling it off, so what's the point in advertising that?

Sony paid the big bucks to secure the franchise and paid for the budget of the movie, if they want Sony products in the film that's fine, I don't think they were shoe horned in either.

I thought the film was pretty strong actually, pretty emotional. I was surprised. Some pacing issues maybe and Spidey is maybe a bit too cocky, but otherwise I think its honestly the best Spider-Man film.

It's time Sony just sells the Spiderman franchise back to Marvel/Disney.

The everything about the reboot is nowhere near the same quality of the Spiderman series of the early 2000s.

Audiences say otherwise. The movie currently has 370+ million box office worldwide and will probably earn around 800 million. With that kind of money and still 4 movies in this universe I don't see them selling the franchise anytime soon.

Stories unfolded with my home made rap songs. Feel free to listen here with lyrics: https://youtu.be/vyT9PbK5_T0

As long he don't say "my Vaio laptop is so nice" or hey that vita is insane.. (and use it in combat) it it's ok with me..

And I have not seen the movie yet.. (hope he dosent)

The product placement wasn't nearly as bad as man of steel. Anyway this films main problem is that it is terrible, what did they do to the rhino he deserved so much better than what he got in this film.

Rhino is obviously going to be the main villan in the next movie.  (I WANT CARNAGE!)

OT - After watching the movie I can say there are a lot of Sony electronics. The logo of Sony is convienently placed in the shot off to the side or on the bottom. However, I think I noticed this because of this thread. For the camera, its shown when Peter is looking through his computer but it's out of focus but still recognizable. For the phone, Harry calls him at one point and it zooms in on who is calling and you can see it's an xperia.

I don't think it detracted from the movie and it was enjoyable to me.
