No, I'm going to stay physical as I'm too paranoid about if the console breaks, I'll lose my copy of Mario Kart 8.

I just don't get that. Worst case scenario you contact Nintendo and they move the account for you.

I refuse to get any digital games on Wii U until Nintendo starts tieing them to accounts, not individual consoles.

Nope, physical copies are always better.

That makes no sense.

Game is identical both ways.

But you save 10% digitally.
You don't have to swap games.
You don't have to go anywhere to purchase.
You don't have to store game cases/dics anywhere.

There literally is no benefit to physical beyond having too many means needing to purchase an external HDD but that's like $30 to $80 for a 2TB drive that will sti right next to console.

It is tied to an account. Its your account that's tied to the console. Something Nintendo has already stated will change in the long run.

I really don't get people's hang up on this.

Aparently Nintendo tried to charge someone to move their account but that might just be a rumour. Also Nintendo's games on the Eshop seem to be between £44.99 to £49.99 while a physical copy is £39 on Amazon right now.

Do not forget the sub-humans who like to trade in their games

Because I'm not going through the month long process of sending a malfunctioning console to Nintendo just so they might give me my game back. Also, if I end up getting another Wii U down the road (which I might), I won't be able to play it on my new one. At least Sony allows me to have 2 copies downloaded on two seperate systems, with the option to remotely detatch any console from my account. Nintendo has been promising this forever, until they actually implement it I'll pass.

With box art like this I just can't say no!

Yes. Can't have the disk spinning around when I play games. Drives me mad. At this point I haven't played a game from disk in like 4 years. Blissful silence. Recently played GTA 5 from disk at a friend's. Horrible. Had to load from disk every few seconds. That sound is so distracting :/

Granted, I wish they discounted on eShop faster. But in this case it will be full price everywhere, but eShop you should get 10% back.

As for move/charge rumor... I've heard nothing of that. Likely they were asking a charge for them to fix it and not simply move accounts. I really don't consider Nintendo's current account system an issue in the long-term as they've already said they are going to continue to improve it. It wasn't that long ago that they finally added NNID to 3DS.
