Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Directs are absolutely fantastic.

Since their inception the Nintendo Directs have had people love or hate them. They started out as a simple straight talk sort of discussion / advertisement for new features, games, or simply news that would normally exist in a media release. However, over the couple months they have seriously grown up.

Nintendo directs are now clever, entertaining, and truly masterpeices at selling the content they are based on.

I can't wait to see the digitial experience and directs for future games and especially E3. Nintendo is finally gaining some real marketing points for these higher quality show peices.

However, I am not sure if my heart can take them being spontaneous and delivered without warning. O_O

I hope they upgraded their servers for e3 cause my fapmobile is ready!

I laughed and cried during this one ( yes cried, the music section man...brought a tear). They're certainly unique. I definitely will remember these past two for a while.

Pretty awesome stuff! May 30th can not come quick enough!

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

It is good to know they are making it better.

Now give me back the E3 conference Nintedo... nothing better than the old, classic and best megatons.

Yep

Honestly, after today's Direct I have zero skepticism about the E3 Digital Presentation. If it's half as good as today's Direct and Zelda gets announced, I'll be incredibly happy.

I don't watch them as I just don't care but I do appreciate the concept in that they give their fans an intimate look behind the curtain so to speak. My concern, though, is that nintento recently seems to be favoring these directs over more traditional forms of marketing and advertising for which they are not a proper substitute. I think it's a safe assumption that the primary audience for these shows is their own core fanbase, in other words, people whose money they already have, who are willing to take time out of their day to see what nintendo has up their sleeve. The average consumer probably isn't even aware that these showings exist.

I agree for the most part. Some Nintendo Directs are great while some are really not all that great.
