hmmm....are we certain Destiny is going to be that big? Or maybe on par with Borderlands?

Destiny will be the next CoD in terms of sales for both consoles.

Lol no it won't. What makes you think it will attract the casuals that COD does?

Activision + Bungie. You are looking at potential Halo and CoD user base here.

I don't know about quality but I expect at least a solid 8/10 game.

Well, Halo 4 was very, very good on 360, in my opinion. Not much came close to it.

I think we should think about what really makes fps games successful...

Halo 4 issue was the MP... it made a lot of Halo fans stay away from the MP... making a "off" comparison Halo 4 make the MP population goes from CoD levels to Killzone levels ("off" because Halo 4 MP yet have a bigger population than any Killzone but it dropped close do 80% compared with previous titles.

SP is fine... devs needs really work on MP.

Context was graphics :)

COD players dont care about Actvision, they care about COD. Halo userbase clearly sees Bungie kissing Sony's ass and have a sour taste from leaving Halo Reach a mess. Leaving 343 to fix it. So dont expect those userbases to immediately be a part of Destiny.

Meh the gen is young. I had hopes MS would remove the DRM and my faith was rewarded. Now I hope they unbundle kinect and sell a $349 X1.

Besides, Destiny isn't like BF or COD. Destiny is a "Pretend Exclusive". It is a new term where a games E3 showings, press builds, marketing (logo at end of ads), beta, and content are exclusive to one console.

To the uninformed gamer, the console advertised is literally the only platform the game is available. The pretend exclusive.....what a age we live in.

Never heard that term before but the concept itself is old. PS2/GTA and X360/Call of duty are classic examples. Most third party games last gen either had a Playstation or xbox logo at the end as well. wii didnt try hard and look how they ended up lol.

Wow what a reasoning.
People see Activision stamped on it... they buy.
People see Bungie stamped on it... they buy.

Got to agree, but with Bungies PS love and halo/xbox fans disgruntledness means even more Destiny PS4 sales dominance.

what Destiny has going from activision is they know how to makret a fps to epic proportions.

Destiny being that shooter.

Starting with this... Well, currently Destiny looks underwhelming. Graphics don't blow anyone away, the "few-hours level max", the hands-on from Kotaku which told us game was boring...

I still have hopes for the game but at the current state it doesn't seem to be exceptional in *any* way.

As far as graphics are concerned, It is underwhelming, but it could end up being great look no further than Titanfall. The potential is there. Titanfall's graphics are laughable by next gen standards, but it is so addictive. I think this will be the same case in an almost Halo/Borderlands fashion. Sucks for the PC guys though about this game.

This turn against Bungie by some people is awfully amusing.

On topic, I see "FPS land" being split pretty evenly this gen. North America will be relatively even, which is the main market for popular shooter titles.

Beyond that, I no longer see the term being exactly relevant. The 360 was known as the shooter box because it didn't have much besides shooters in the way of major exclusives and because most of the fanbase was composed of shooter fans. I see the XO being much more diverse in terms of exclusives that the 360. The PS4 should be exempt from that perception, as WWS will provide it with a varied selection of titles from a multitude of genres.

I really don't think one console or the other will be dominated by shooter fans.
