I say Watch Dogs will dominate, plus its on more than one system. There has been a lot of marketing for it in America as well. More than MK8 even.

 

For me the more intriguing question is who will win weeks 2, 3, and 4 ...

Week 1 - Watch Dogs

Beyond that - MK8 generally outsell WD on PS4. But the WD franchise collectively outsells MK8 for the first year.

Beyond beyond that. All hail the new king of kart racers. MK8 stays in the top 100 for the next 2-3 years like it's bretheren.



I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

If we are talking about all versions combined, WD will have a bigger first week than MK 8 but mario kart will outsell watch dogs combined in the long run unless it becomes some kind of gta.

AFAIK, Wii U userbase is a factor when sales of big games like 3DWorld and DK are terrible. Then, the low userbase will make MK sell on the low side.

Watch Dogs is going to have the bigger first week, but I really can't decide regarding lifetime sales! Maybe MK8 will win thanks to bundurus and high attach rate?

Idk about any of these two games, but Watch Doge will beat them both. It has much hacks

Mario Kart 8 will Outsell all version of Watch dogs lifetime, But Not Combined. Mario Kart games usually have great leg. and Nintendo has stated that they will have a year long Mario Kart 8 commerical/advertisment campaign. 

It's also funny to note how many people, think that preorders matter. Mario Kart 7 had less preoders than what Mario Kart 8 has, and look how much it has sold first week.

I doubt Mario Kart 8 sales first week will be below 400k.

I fail to see how Super Mario 3D World Sales are terrible, given the fact that it has almost pass 2 million, and remains in the top 30 best seeling games every week since launch. Donkey Kong on the other hand, I can totally agree with you on that.
