Forums - Gaming - Titanfall exclusivity proved to be (quite) pointless

Those who don't like MS, are more likely to hate them in the gaming community.
I could elaborate...

Personally, MS annoys me only because they aren't as invested in gaming as the other manufacturers.
I could elaborate...

Xbox is still my favorite Xbox Console.

Microsoft had the money and helped fund its development. So definitely not pointless, plus increased sales over 90% and sold over 1,000,000 on X1 alone.

So where was EA in this whole situation?

In MS back pocket of course.

..and what a scary world it is for the industry when those two put their brilliant heads together. Their mentalities are the perfect marriage outside of Activision.

Nothing scary about it, its business.  EA wanted a partner to finish a project.  MS and Sony was asked, MS stepped up to the plate.  Next time it probably woudl be Sony depending on the project.  Really, you guys need to wake up and understand that games are a business and a very risky one at that.

Exclusivity saved the game. EA wasn't going to fund the game from what I have read.

So, in the end it was a good thing for the developer and gamers.

But if the exclusivity deal reached or not MS expectations. It's another story.

No offense but the American corps will be the first to take your rights from you when its all said and done. The writing is on the wall, bro. They will drag us kicking and screaming into Xbox Live/Origin land in the near future. Be happy for what freedoms you do have right now. Hopefully Nintendo stays away from them, because I know they'll probably take Sony down with them

Just so I am clear, you believe Sony does not have asperations for PSN to be included in your list.  As a gamer I always have my freedom because I just do not put to much stock in it.  If a company does something I do not like, then I am out.  No tear will be shed because I really have so much to do that its hard for me to find time to do it all.

LOL The only thing protecting gamer rights at this present time is First-sale doctrine, not the opinion of yourself or myself. Without it say hello to the world MS and EA had been hoping would've been realized this gen until Cinemablend blew the whistle on them. Hope you know what that is. I'll be back later.

The only thing standing in the way of business are consumers, MS and EA would love to cut out the middleman,

Um....MS getting grilled by the gaming press for not developing enough first party isn't exactly something to overlook. There is no agenda, my friend.

This supposed hypothetical grilling has... what to do with MS securing exclusive content for their platform exactly?

All 3 companies have great 1st party portfolios and yet all 3 companies go out and secure exclusive content. The only reason anyone would view one negatively but another positively is agendas. And please, you do have an agenda. Just look at you go on about American company greed. It can't get much simpler than that. And per usual you even build in a future excuse for Sony for when they eventually start doing things you're bitching about MS doing now. It's not Sony's fault, they were "dragged into it" by MS and EA.

Strangely you complain about American companies and yet the shadiest thing I have ever had happen to me in gaming was when Sega, a Japanese company, started their pay to play online network (which preceded Live, I guess that greed isn't so American after all) called SegaNet and when it folded they sold all the consumer data and financial info to shitty 56k provider Earthlink. And by the way you champion a company in Sony who makes most of their money selling insurance. LOL. Cmon broseph, it's transparent.

Yeah it was, the game is nothing special, didn't help that there was no single player to add any value or to those who don't care for playing online. what a waste.

Ha, MS and EA would love to force you to only have one option if it were up to them.  Consumers are one part of the equation.  Competition for your money is what keep these companies in check.  None of these organizations are above the rest.  When Sony, Nintendo and MS has smelled their success, they have all abused their power.  Without competition, none of them would care about the consumer or even their partners.
