Forums - Sony - Remastering recent first party games a smart move of Sony? Or we don't need them?

I think it would be better if the games were older like the first infamous or kill zone or god of war that way there is an actual improvement plus it would allow those who never owned a ps3 a chance to understand wats going on in those games

I am loving it! Didn't play many of the games! And loved that some have crossbuy (like soundshapes)

The Bitch is back! And better then ever! #BritneyReturns

SONY Bring them BACK for PS4 and VITA!

I think it's too early to remaster TLOU, but it's an obvious move to do it at one point. There may be some other older games that we'd like to see remastered first, but on the other hand this just seems to be a move targeted at America, where PS3 wasn't that big. Many people haven't experienced it, so it can actually count as a AAA PS4 exclusive in America.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

If it wasn't called "Remastered" it would have just been seen as a cross-gen title. Just another port. I don't see the big deal, honestly. This is really nothing special from the norm at all.

4 ≈ One

I won't buy them, because most of  those are story driven and I have no desire to play again (IMO, the gameplay in TLOU sucks, I just watched my friend play it and even fell asleep twice). Other than that, I play mostly on PC so I already have """remastered""" editions of third party games.

A great move would have been backwards compatibility

low effort.
rounds out the year 1 lull.
gives xbox converts a good reason to convert to playstation.
these late gen game i just don't want to buy on last gen hardware.

i like it. give me:

TLoU - check
beyond - rumored
rachet and clank into the nexus
dark souls 2
puppeteer
KH 1.5 and 2.5 collections

Its meant to fill in the gaps until the real exclusives come. I mean, its better then nothing so there's really no downside.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I need The Last of Us in 1080p 60 fps per second and enhanced graphics

I think it's a good idea.

- People who didn't have a PS3 but wanted to play those games have another reason to buy a PS4.
- People who have the game on PS3 have an option at some point to replace it with a PS4 version and not have to turn on their PS3 again. These ports are likely to drop in price quickly, and make it into the PS+ library I think.
- It's not like it has some confirmed down sides. Would you rather have a new Quantic Dream IP in 2017, or Beyond 2 Souls in 2014 AND a new IP in 2017?
