These remasters arguably have very little cons, if any, from a business perspective.
And people who missed it can play it, people who loved it can play an improved version of it (I'll certainly buy TLoU when I have a PS4). I don't see the harm. In fact, I even like it, if the PS2 Remasters are any indication. Shadow of the Colossus and God of War really make a good difference, makes the game much smoother.

I find it kinda funny that so many people take that Beyond rumour as confirmed.

Depends on the game, for TLOU I think it's a great idea, for something like Beyond, if that is even true, meh I don't know, I guess it can't hurt aside from some people on the internet screaming that the PS4 only has ports or something, but I also don't see many people going for that game on PS4.

i would love that, but make it 64 players, and 4x times the number of buildings available for each team. but we all know thats not gonna happen. starhawk was such a good game, sadly it didnt make it.

The money they can make from it compared to the time it takes to make the port would be too good for them to reject. Especially when they have a games which have won as many awards as TLOU or uncharted have.

Uncharted trilogy was also rumoured to be ported, and it makes perfect sense for them to release it before uncharted 4 comes.

Remastering is not a very expensive undertaking, and Sony is doing to mainly to expand the user base, there are many people who never owned a PS3, there are still a lot of X360 users who don't want to pay extra for Kinect, and all the awards and praise will sway many undecideds towards PS4 and away from XOne, which has nothing even close to that quality on offer.
As with Injustice and Tomb Raider before, former PS3 owners who played TLOU already are not the target audience, and every person like that to purchase it is just an added bonus...

Really don't get all the hate. You don't want t, don't buy it.Great opportunity for those who didn't own the previous console to catch up on some quality gaming they may have missed and a quick way for Sony to plug the gap.

If all that was coming out, was new versions of last gen games there might be a problem.

But is it really any different to cross generational multiplatform titles? How did people feel about titles like Burnout Revenge coming out on 360 6 months after PS2/Xbox with improved and HD visuals?

I say do it. There are plenty of people who didn't own a PS3 before and have sided (or are choosing to side) with the PS4, so at least they'll be able to enjoy some of the PS3's best offerings. It will be interesting to see how TLoU sells on the PS4.

Remasters are great, but 1-2 year old remakes are a bit much IMO.
