Forums - Nintendo - Can we expect a multiplayer Mario platformer with online next generation?

So internet connections are good enough for 64 player maps and 12 racers in Mario Kart 8 but somehow not good enough for Mario platformers? Interesting >_>

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Nahh but the one after the next will defiantly do it!

This is my biggest peeve on the internet...

@OP: Nintendo isn't the only one who doesn't trust connections yet. I can't think of a platformer that lets you play online co-op.

Rayman Legends on Vita has online Co-op

Most likely because Vita uses 3G right? If Wi-fi flickers then 3G is right behind to back it up.

Well really I think its just because Vita dosent do 4 player couch co-op =P

And when are you going to find other Vita owners, never. So the only solution is online

It's all about that precise jumping moment to gain that extra "Ooomph" height from enemy heads.

Which, in Nintendo and platformer's defense, require very little to no lag and is quite common and required in later Mario levels to get them cleared.

Exactly! Precision n timing is not exclusive to platformers, you also need it in FPS's, racers, Figthers, etc., all these genres of which have had plenty of successful games with online play, so that's a silly excuse!
