Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Drought

Well after 6-8 months of game after game it appears it is that time for a gaming drought.  We still have a few games like Watch Dogs, Dark Souls II PC, Child of Light, Transister, and prob some other indie/arcade titles but for the most part it appears Watch Dogs and Mario Kart 8 is going to be the last big titles for some time now.  Luckily we will have E3 to get everybody pumped up for the next year in gaming.  But as far as gaming what is everybody going to do during the drought?

I will genuinely say that the launch of the new consoles has had me playing one game after another and that the launch of XBO has easily been the best for me.  I still have a backlog which includes Dead Rising 3, InFamous Second Son, Assassin's Creed IV, and maybe a few others but for the most part it looks like i wont have a huge backlog either.  It seems this happens pretty much every year in the middle of the year.  Kind of sucks and i wish Publiishers would spread out their games more rather than flooding the holidays but all i can say is hopefully we will have some good indies/arcade titles :)

Xbox One Def has been the best game wise!

Not for me. I have a Vita. I'm up to my balls in no gaemz.

During the drought and if I have too much time on my hands I will probably get the Wii U and play all the stuff I've missed so far.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I don't really suffer a drought because I'm always behind, there is probably about 20 games I need to play before I even start buying stuff from this year.

Having said that I get what you're saying. There are a few others coming that you didn't mention, like MLB, Murdered: Soul Suspect and Wolfenstein, but these months are always the same. It seems like publishers make more money putting the big games against each other in the holiday season than releasing in a quieter month in the middle of the year with far less competition, so it's not gonna change. Best to make sure you have a backlog going into this period, like it sounds that you do

You should be ashamed of yourself making jokes like that.. you should be playing vita games like .... and ... not to forget ....

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

First of all.....drout? I hope you did that on purpose lol

Anyway, I don't really feel like it's a DROUGHT at all. Watch Dogs next month. ESO the month after that. As long as there's a triple A title per month, there's no drought

Am I going crazy, or is drought, mis-spelled?
I haven't experienced a drought in ages though. Got over 20 plus full retail non played games sitting on my shelf.

Well, there's MLB: The Show and Watch Dogs in May, Murdered: SS and UFC in June, and nothing notable until The Evil Within in August & Destiny in September.

Meh, there's a drought, but at least E3 will fill the slow summer months.
