I saw this title and wast hinking the same.  Was like holy shit, didn't realize there was 30 people.  I just thought there be like 12 or something.  Well seeing that trailer with like 7 koobalings I guess figured like 20.  But 30 sounds insane to me. 

I dont' care about big roster in mario Kart.  You can customize your cart enough that you can really play how you like with anyone.  No need to switch around like in Smash.  I want a 100 character roster for smash and would be fine with 10 chracter roster for Mario Kart.

But characters in Mario Kart should be less demanding.  So it should be easier for them to stuff 100 characters in Mario Kart.  You don't need to make new moves and so on for each person, just a new skin to toss in a differnt skinned cart.  So if any could have a bigger orster easier it is mario Kart. 

As long as it has Shy Guy I'm good to go.

For me it is enough. In the end I will only use 4 or 5 characters normally. The others are just nice gimmicks to use them sometimes^^

Gotta catch em all? Are number of characters for Ninty fans like graphics are for PS fans?

30 is a good amount. I'll only choose Toad or yoshi.

Really?  I found that to the opposite always.  No one ever wanted to be Mario.

They would want to be Luigi or Yoshi or anyone else.  It was like being Luigi in a Mario game, everyone loved being player 2 so they could be luigi cause it was new.  Why be mario when you were mario in a million other games.  This even back on 64 when there was a limited roster, I found none of my family/friends ever chose mario.  

I still never chose Mario in any games (Kart, Smash, Party, ect) due probably to those reasons that I instilled in my brain as a child.  I dont' think about it, but its probably the same as they say the music you listen to as a teenager sticks with your your whole life in some form.  I subconsciously always refuse to be Mario cause that was how I thought younger.  Not that I didn't like him, but wanted something new.
