A lot will depend on any of the other meaningful game releases in addition to MK8- I don t see MK8 pushing 600 or 700K hardware units in 1 month (but I have never been around for a MK release)

I ll say the Wii U will hit 7 mill by Oct 1, 2014 if another game like Bayonetta 2 or Hyrule Warriors is released in that time frame- if not then it will be Dec 1 2014

The WiiU is selling under 40k per week. At this rate the system will be around 6.3m when Mario Kart releases. That means you expect Mario Kart to push 700k consoles in one week. Absolutely incredible.

They have been doing around 38k/week, at this pace it would take them between 6 and 7 months.

But MK8 is going to boost this, and normally games sales improve at the second half of the year, so maybe 4 months.

It's doing 35k a week on average, and is at 6m exactly 5th April.

22 weeks until Sep 6th = 770k. + 230k boost from MK.

I don't see how it could get there before August unless Nintendo secretly has 6 games ready for release in June and July. Not small games, either.
