I don't have the game but according to a few websites, the answer is yes. It does support the regular Wii Remote.

It seems to have been said, but that Best Buy employee is an example of the kind of stupidity going around with regards to the Wii U, and I hate it entirely.

Anyway, yea, the Wii U is fully backwards compatible with the Wii, and Wii U games will denote on if they work with Wiimotes and other Wii accessories.

It seems to have already been mentioned, but here's the must-haves for any Wii U owner:

- Super Mario 3D World
- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
- Pikmin 3
- The Wonderful 101
- Wind Waker HD (moreso if you've never played it before!)

I think if you own the Wii version and it is for sale on the Wii U e-shop you get a large discount (something like 70% off I think)

Yea, I've been upgrading old titles from my Wii that come out on Wii U, though they haven't exactly caught up with the backlog there, haha
