Awesome port by Bluepoint. This is way too close to the XBO version. No wonder MS kept it behid closed doors.

After some massive concessions it runs pretty well it seems. Knowing how the other 2 versions play, i would have preferred even more texture and frame rate concessions to keep better sound and visual effects.

They need to... it was the biggest release for the console. The point is that Titanfall was never a nex-gen game to begin... it was always developed with last-gen in mind... just last year it moved to Xbone... the engine choice cleary shows that (it was choose because it runs better on PS3/360). Edit - I know it won't happen but I choose you, Blue Point, to make The Last of Us port. |
LOL well it's rumored that someone is making a PS4 port for The Last of Us to be released this year. I'm just finishing up the DLC/Online though, getting my first PS Platinum
. Not going to get the port.

Looks infinitely better than that leaked twitch stream previously seen.
I don't think this game is totally fair for the XB1, because the textures in the XB1 version are so terrible. I mean the XB1 isn't exactly world-class hardware, but there's no reason for Titanfall XB1 to look basically like a last-gen game. This 360 version proves that. Beyond resolution and a few details/effects, it's effectively identical.
If Titanfall had been developed from the ground up on a new engine with the XB1 in mind, it would have looked insanely better. If Titanfall 2 still uses the source engine I'm going to be extremely disappointed. That thing is older the freaking Xbox 360 for god's sake. Let it rest.

Probably some visual fidelity as well. They must have used some additional tech also I believe.
However, all this does not negate your opinion. This game alone does not show sufficient gap to make the jump onto XB1. This, of course doesn't mean that XB1 doesn't offer that, but this game ain't it. They need a more next-gen optimized game like Forza 5 to show it off.
Playstation 5 vs XBox Series Market Share Estimates
Regional Analysis (only MS and Sony Consoles)
Europe => XB1 : 23-24 % vs PS4 : 76-77%
N. America => XB1 : 49-52% vs PS4 : 48-51%
Global => XB1 : 32-34% vs PS4 : 66-68%
Devs did a good job but there is a clear difference in textures. I think the XO version looks great, on par with next gen versions of COD and even Battlefield 4. TF on 360 does not look as good as Ghosts though.
There is clearly an agenda behind people overprasing the 360 version, just to riddicule MS and X1.

If someone thinks Titanfall even on PC maxed looks half as good as Battlefield 4 in terms of graphics, I have to wonder if they have eyeballs.
But in terms of what makes a game fun, eh, I could see someone having 10x the fun with one or the other depending on preference. Titanfall graphics aren't so terrible as to make the game not fun, but the engine is 10 years old and it shows. The textures are often things that would look at home on the OG Xbox depending on where you look.
