Well playstation is a worldwide console in its 4th generation. The fact they got their butt whipped in their 3rd generation vs 360's 2nd generation is why everything is not perfect in sony land. 360 sold approximately 90 million more games. The world was sony's to lose and 360 won last gen with only 2 lead countries US and UK. I doubt XB1 can unseasy playstation as the worldwide gaming console, but we are still very early in each console's life.

As for the Shanghai-japan comment you know what I meant.

That's a good view and I agree if the numbers are accurate but I guess PS4 is not doing that bad in US right now... I think it is undertracked 10-20k every week in VGC.

China will do next to nothing for the X1. Just because there's a lot of people, doens't mean it'll sell well. Heck, I believe we've already seen this with India. I would hedge anything on China, at least, not this decade.

US is a definite possibility, but I doubt the same can be said of UK.  The four weeks X1 outsold PS4 in UK were due to stock shortages and Titanfall launch week. PS4 was back on top last week and judging by software sales this week is almost certainly on top again.  Given that the UK has already seen an official price cut in the UK there doesn't seem much else Microsoft can do to turn the UK around right now.

You know, like the Shanghai Free Trade Zone, where you can walk into a store and simply buy a PS4? Most Shanghaiers seem to find enough XBox Ones and PS4s through cheaper avenues, though...

But this not PS3/360 generation anymore :

- PS4's success on Sony Land region is bigger than PS3's one. So bigger gap.

- NA is very "tie" between PS4/X1. Last generation 360 destroyed PS3 there. It was MS's main region, there is no domination anymore. 

So tell me how you expected to close the gap in this condition ?

As for Shanghai, I don't know what you meant. If you're hoping some kind PS4's Japan's numbers, come back to earth. Same goes for PS4 and Wii U there.

If its NOT GOOD to MICROSOFT, I dont care how "not bad" most of the people on this forum feel it is doing, it is still doing....NOT GOOD.  A console that is "[not] doing bad by any means" doesnt have retailers (and the brand) cutting the price and leveraging ridicous deals 4 months out.  No matter how many times on here I see the liine "its just not doing as good as the PS4".  Well what do yall think Microsoft expected it to do? My Hypothesis would be they expected it to do "as good (and mostlikely better) than the PS4".

So by Microsoft means it is doing bad.

what do generations have to do with anything?  SEGA and Nintendo were on their 3rd consoles when Sony entered the market and they managed to sell more consoles than their competitors combined.  Hell they sold more than ANY console had ever sold.  Generations have nothing to do with anything.  Sony had their worst gen in their 3rd gen.
