Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft shows off potential power of the Cloud at BUILD

forget whether it can be done or not, d we have fast enough internet to achieve such level from the cloud?

Around the Network

The other part is this, any internet connected device with enough cpu grunt to handle the load on the network stack is a valid device to be used with cloud computing, the notion that this is exclusive to microsoft and the xbox one is somewhat retarded.

And now please without smoke and mirrors and an actual explanation what the cloud was doing, where it was at and what machines did it.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Who knows where we'll be 4 or 5 years from now. Hell in 2009 Google Fiber's speeds of up to 1000mbps were unheard of for a domestic area. Now that its hit the ground running it may be affordable and much higher for a good amount of people in a couple years.

Fracturing is one part but the MS demo could also be doing some stress simulation ...

There is no evidence that the MS demo is doing meterial stress simulation, hell you can see that only the facade blows apart even when he blasts it the floors stay intact. I mean the MS demo doesn't even appear to have shadows. It's not impressive at all compared to GPU physics demos that have been around for years.

so much damage control here. You don't even need to read through the thread, just look at the signatures and you know what the user posted. Sad, but true.

Cloud computing is here to stay and it will become standard in almost every piece of technology in the next years and gaming won't make an exception. There is a reason why MS, Google, Amazon or IBM invest billions of USD to get their cloud-powered devices or cloud infrastructure ready.

Said at the exact same time his fireball weapon thing passes straight through a giant object in front of him, not once, but twice, without causing it any damage. I swear, how unfortunate do you have to be lol. He stuttered a bit during it too, I wonder if he realized how bad it just got, but he couldn't leave the sentence half finished lol.

Cloud computing has existed as long as computer networks have, games have been using it since the early 90s. Of course it's here to stay. Doesn't make this demo any less scetchy.

I am sure some people will be there, but in Aus they only started rolling it 100mbit and that project has been cancelled to be replaced with a shitter project. If they invest 40billion now there will not be another major one for at least 20years.

Now factor in all the other countries around the world and cloud computing may be like a subset of consoles (i.e. Cloud Console Master Race haha)

you just proved my point. Every word of it.

Feel free to name me some PS2 / PS1 / SNES / N64 games that have been using cloud computing then. This will be fun.
