Its a prologue not a demo, prologues aren't a new thing, seriously your making a mountain out of a molehill.

The MGS2 Tanker Prologue was a demo.  Didn't have to pay £20-30 for it.

Different Gen/ didn't utilize a new engine/wasn't specifically requested/fanbase wasn't as large then

GT 4 was a prologue too, you either got it bundled(japan) or paid for it

edit: Rent et :|

It's a rental. Go rent the game on a weekend, you'll be done with the game by the end of the afternoon. And if you want to 100% the game you'll be done by sunday, and that's if you only play like 3or4 hours a day (wich I know most of us usualy do way more when we get a new game and we are on days off).

What?! I can't hear you over all this awsome! - Pyrrhon (Kid Icarus:Uprising)

Final Ultimate Legendary Earth Power Super Max Justice Future Miracle Dream Beautiful Galaxy Big Bang Little Bang Sunrise Starlight Infinite Fabulous Totally Final Wonderful Arrow...FIRE! - Wonder-Red (The Wonderful101)

I have not played it, but everything I've seen and heard suggests that this game has proportionately high replay value, but proportionately low actual content.

Speaking only for myself, with the exception of games featuring multiple characters, I don't care to buy those kind of games unless the price is in single digits. I find the value they provide is largely superficial, and usually not worth the price.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

If this prologue unlocks something significant in the final product, i might consider picking it up with or just before PP (PP I'll get regardless)
otherwise I'll probably just give it a miss

I bought it on PS3, so I think it was worth buying it at $20 and not a cent more. Yes, the PS4 version has mind-blowing graphics and cloud physics, but I think it's not worth $30.

About those "mind-blowing graphics".... They weren't so mind blowing.  Looked like they'd be right at home on PS3/360 (though they'd be at the high end of the spectrum).

Erm... I might've exaggerated in the mind-blowing part. I was comparing it with the other 3 versions, so I hope it makes more sense. Still, the game isn't worth $30 just because it's the PS4/XB1 graphically advantaged version.

I really don't understand why someone would buy this NOW. I am a massive MGS fan, but why would you rush out to pay $30 for a game that will last you 1 night so you can wait a year for the full game?

I have a mentality that a game is "worth it" if I get around 1 hour of play time for each £ spent. Games which are way under aren't worth it, and games way over are great value for money.

I got Ground Zeroes for £28, and played it for about 4 hours. So, that's 1/7th of an hour per pound. I'm not saying it isn't good (it's enjoyable whilst it lasts), but value for money? No. It's not worth the price.

I often think of the price per hour as well, going roughly $.50-$3 per hour based on quality of experience.  For example a 20 hour great game is worth $60 to me, whereas a 20 hour average game is worth $10-15 to me.  In this case Ground Zeroes feels like a great 5 hour experience, putting it at a $10-15 value for me.

It's great, but not worth the price.

It's no where near worth the $30, but it does make a nice rental. Other developers will probably look at the sales and use this cash grab method in the future. Easy money..
