Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft: 'We Are in This to Win,' Focusing on Games at E3

They've been in it to win the entire time.

This generation is more than likely decided, but with price cuts and compelling software they could stay on the heels of PS4.

They said the same last year... I hope they have better lucky this year.

"Were in this to win" is very vague. Sure most Sony fans will dismiss this and laugh because they associate winning with global sales.

But I think he was talking about releasing more AAA games every year. So far so good.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Love the enthusiasm, but I think you guys should be happy with second place.

2nd place, profitability, and great games every year is all we can ask for. Losing always brings out the best in corporations, MS seems to have their priorities now.

I am slowly starting to like this guy. He is slowly increasing my exclusive expectations of Microsoft. Reminds me of where Xbox 360 was when Shane Kim was the head.

"While Microsoft's Phil Spencer admits both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are doing "incredibly well," the new head of Xbox says "that’s good for the business, but we’re in this to win."

damn, they really must be doing something right when Stage isn't talking down on their 1st party studios lol

To be honest, I think we still have a LOT to see from Microsoft. It's clear to me that they got started in this generation before they were ready. Much of the content they spent all that money on hasn't been close enough to gold to show off. It might be this E3, or maybe later, but I get the feeling they have a bunch of stuff up their sleeves.

Of course, we know Sony will bring the first party games, so it's gonna be interesting. I do think Sony's will be spread out more, however, given how well they've supported the PS3, which might give the XO an early advantage.

Second place but winning in games...I could take that :).

No new tv features? Doom awaits.

Why do you say that?

PS3 was behind in WW sales, but we still claimed to be 'winning' for many years.

It is about the AAA exclusives, and I can bet you that PS4 will have way more than XB1 at the time its even worth considering who will win the gen.

What first party studios? I said exclusive expectations not first party. Exclusives that are high level at Microsoft rarely are first party. Their third party partnerships are looking really hot.
