Forums - Gaming - Capcom Cut Profit Forecast By 50%, Owing To Mobile And Monster Hunter Frontier G

Unlike many I don't think that mobile is simply a bubble waiting to burst. MH by and large just overshoots that market. Sessions take way too long for general mobile use case, Trying to mimic arcade style combat without buttons has never seemed to garner much interest or following. Subscription would also be a high barrier to entry in comparison to other available options.

Capcom is just doing it wrong. Honestly they really need to make content from the bottom up for this platform cause none of their current IP's would really work all that well on mobile as they currently exist. Well maybe BoF wont be that bad. SE has found much success with RPGs.

Maybe spending more money on mobile, micro-transactions and on-disk DLC and not giving the fans what they want will improve your profits Capcom... Idk if I have ever seen a more blind company than Capcom, seriously

Capcom makes a game, doesn't matter the market, then they cry the profit isn't as ridiculous as they expected. Is Capcom the new Square Enix where they expect everything to move millions of units but only move several hundred thousand instead?

Breath of Fire VI is probably going to be Capcom's savior.............probably!

Companies should buy out their IPs and leave the carcass of Capcom to rot in a hole somewhere.

Have been making tons of money for decades making normal games.

Continues making mobile games.

God dammit Nintendo, buy them already and make them stahp it!

You know. Nintendo buying Capcom would be very interesting. They could give them the Mature content and if they went back to their 5th and 6th gen style output.

Can't say I'd be against it. Konami might be a better fit though. If they were shopping for a struggling high profile company with a wealth of IP to exploit.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Definitely time for Nintendo to save Capcom.

Wait... You mean you can't just throw out a bunch of mobile games and expect them to make you millions? But I thought mobile was magic money...?

Capcom and Konami are my to favorite on the to buy list of Nintendo. :P They have some interesting IP's, and most of their IP's differ a bit from Nintendos, while still holding on to many of Nintendos own strategies. Having Monster Hunter, Resident Evil or MGS and Castlevania could be a real gamechanger for Nintendo (combined with the other franchises of cource). But is Konami really struggling though? I mean, Capcom is in deeper shit than pretty much anything else. The board at Capcom would probably be much more likely to accept a takeover compared to the mostly Sony friendly Konami.

If Nintendo got one of them though, or dare I say both, the outrage would be worth it, all by itself. :D
