Same here! Good to know we're consistant in what we say though.
Gex, I remember watching someone playing it when I was little it looked amazing. I love playing Gex, played it all the time as a kid.
I remember Mortal Kombat 2 on my Sega Genesis. My game eventually broke so that no computer opponents would fight back and I eventually unlocked Smoke from my friends and I constantly beating people.

The first mortal Kombat was one of my first games. The visuals were ahead of it's time and the violence really made it stand out of the rest. The charachters resonated in me too.
Super Mario World. What was special about it? Everything! I just had this urge to keep playing. Each time I found a secret exit I got pretty hyped. How the world around me changed with each switch I hit, with every key I found stacked on hidden places, the extremely challenging levels, funny stuff like using Yoshi to eat the key and entering the keyhole... and all of that at the age of 7, it swooped me in.
No I mean the first Gex, the 2D one. It was amazing, epic jokes and amazing gameplay. I feel it was better 2D.

Agreed completely. I still play the first 3 (mostly the third one) from time to time on my X360, although it does seem a lot harder than I remember. Oddly enough, I never really got into Street Fighter and have only played it a few times.

Mario games need to create this feeling of wonder again. The last ones while good overall are nothing incredible and nowhere near the galaxy games.
