That is the point , though we do not know how much they loose on each PS4, also depending on how much software they sell that could offset the loss /per system which by online software sales, we have no idea how much sales or profit they are making.

The fact there is a trimming of sections over @ Sony but also investments right back into the company show its not clear cut. Like for instance lay off's but than turn right around and invest into VR technology, Purchase a new HQ in silicon Valley, Invest into more network developments to expand the platforms distribution across more platforms. All of that cost's money time and resources!

The fact that by spinning off tv, selling off PC and cutting 5,000 jobs will net over 1 billion/yr in saving's is quite a large sum for Sony, since they are expected to report a 1.1 billion loss, so imagine that 1.1 billion Loss gone now every year! from Now on

PS4 even with it being an oustounding success has very little effect on the Sony Financials (at least at the moment), it is very low margin. The loss adjustment was also made in feb when Sony were well aware of the financial situation they were in. I would expect their estimate would be reasonably close, perhaps 100 million better or worse than 1.1 billion. either way the PS4 numbers would have been well understood already in the figures.

Re-structuring costs. All the money the PS4 has made will be eaten up.

But also, they are cutting off those parts that are netting such huge Loss for them, So taking the Hit now, but Offset those Loss reductions to Later for Good, I think Kaz and the Board will take that, to stop such huge Loss. I mean in 10 years accumulated time Sony's TV section lost over 8 Billion!

But yet, that also shows How Japan differ's than the west in How the Exchange of Stock market differ's than the west,many such billionaires from the west get or have been frustrated in the fact they cannot get anywhere in changing japans culture against Hostile Take over's.

Think about that Sony in about 10 years time and they lost over 8 billion from the TV section and the Loss from the Playstation 3 and PC, and yet they still Told Loeb NO!
