I always assumed Media Create is more trust worthy. Can't explain why:/

Ps4 doesn't have any supply problem in japan.

So if, next week PS4 sells around 25k, ending March with practically 500k, you wouldn't consider it suspicious to be true???, i mean the fact that Sony intended to sell 500k. I'm not saying there is stock issues, but, maybe, they just predicted from the begining how much they were going to sell. Maybe they didn't shipped 500k but maybe 520k, 530k, 540k, or 550k....???.

what's suspicious about a guess? ps4 isn't selling out in japan. it doesn't depend supply to sell.

Maybe i'm not expressing myself correctly. Selling out is not the point here, they don't need to. What i mean is the VP of Namco, before PS4 launched said he expected 500k units sold for 31 March. What i'm saying, is, that maybe he was so sure about that number because Sony was expecting the same and he knew that. In conclusion, Sony made a calculated aproach to reach the 500k figure as consistent as possible.

Look at the numbers...

PS4 first 5 weeks

309.154 / 309.154
65.685 / 374.839
35.294 / 410.133
29.677 / 439.810
30.201 / 470.011

(thanks to ethomaz post)

The numbers seems too round and calculated, and if PS4 sells 25k next week, after MGS GZ launch, i think what i'm saying must be true.

Thing is, he wasn't sure at all. He said 300-500k units.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Neither, they just have different predictions because they track different things. MC is the one closer to what VGC will put up though

I guess the shipments per week can be like...

350k / 350k
50k / 400k
50k / 450k
50k / 500k
50k / 550k
50k / 600k

600k shipped with 500k sold seem right to me.

That's what i'm trying to say, thanks ethomaz for show it more clearly than me

In Japan are very accustomed to very frontloaded sales of shipments. Probably they calculated what was the number to sell 80-90% of the shipments. Too low and they will have too much stock problems, too much and they will have to explain why so many units in stores unsold. So maybe they calculated they needed to ship 500-600k units to reach that %.

This is just a theory...

Maybe he said 300k to not look like a moron if in the improbable case PS4 was a huge failure and didn't sell so much. I think he was just being conservative...

Great for Vita and PS4. But dat random hardware boost... I hope this happens a lot throughout the year!

The ps4 is tracking a lot lower than wii u and the gap will get much bigger through the year. Ps4 simply doesnt have any perspective to gain ground against all the games coming to wii u.

Now, want to make things interesting and bet? I win if ps4 doesnt surpass wii u ltd in japan in 2015. you win if ps4 pass wii u ltd in japan in 2015.

The WiiU launched during the holidays, and I highly doubt the PS4 will fall under 5k weekly like the WiiU did. The WiiU doesn't exactly have a stellar lineup, no real system sellers other than MK8 and Smash Bros.

That's a long bet. But sure I'll take it.

Those two are the biggest but it sure has a lot of other big titles coming and they all stack with the ones already released.

fyi, if you are wondering while EVERYTHING released this week and system sales are generally higher, starting this I believe, there is a 5% tax hike in Japan. To avoid this tax, everybody is buying stuff now. There is suppose to be another one in October 2015

Nice to see the little increase for Wii U, and good numbers for Vita.
