with both MGS and Infamous...it's bound to be a healthy week of sales for the PS4 overall

PS4 is doing PS3 last year numbers, and less than half the numbers it was pushing in 2009 and 2010.

Ah... and I´ve read here that UK received a large bunch of PS4s the Titanfall week.

+ 5 days in stock at Amazon and Bestbuy, 4 days at Meijer and the Infamous bundle is still available at GameStop.

Yes, demand is insane...

how many months has it been now that i've had to reread slightly different versions of this same post?

downplay ps4 all you want but ~7M in it's first fiscal year is impressive.  55% more impressive than ~4.5M...

One day he will be finally be correct and he will gloat and shout it out from the rooftops "HAHA! I told you so!".

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

the first thing that came to mind was "how can a system sold out everywhere double in sales?"

only the same % boost as titanfall.

...am i wrong to be disappointed?

Nah, as others have alluded to in earlier posts.  The boost isn't necessarily due to Infamous, the boost is because Sony made sure stock was available for the Infamous launch.  Now, did people go out and get PS4's specifically for Infamous?  Or was it just an opportune time for people who want to get PS4's, to get them?  That's kinda the question, and not really answerable...in fact, I don't think it'll be easy to tell demand for any PS4 game until supply catches up to demand.

Wouldn't software sales be the best indicator of a games demand? It's always hard to tell how much a game moves a console unless there are no other variables (supply, bundles, pricecuts, sales, ect.)

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Not knocking anyone. But I'd never buy a console because of a game.

You have me intrigued now.

What do you buy them for, Doorstops? Paper Weights?

Yup,  because you don't know exactly what I mean right?

I don't. Do you mean for a single game?

Yeah I think he means one game. Which I sort of agree, that's a lot of money to spend because of one game. But I don't know anyone who buys a console for just one game and I think he mistook people buying a console when a certain game comes out with buying it for just that game.

Well, caveat, I'm no expert, I'm just guessing so take it with a grain of salt.

The software sales should definitely help paint the picture, but because so many people are looking for PS4's right now, it's entirely plausible that some folks were forced to buy the SS Bundle, for lack of standalone hardware availability.  Ergo, whenever stock of the PS4 comes in, whether it's bundle or not, the hardware will sell out until demand is met.  That make any sense?

Guess this reverses some of the gains made by the X1 in the UK during the past 4 weeks where it outsold the PS4?
