Forums - Nintendo - Wave Race, 1080 or Piltowings for Wii U.

which would you choose?

Wave race 63 56.76%

1080 26 23.42%

Pilotwings 21 18.92%

Total:110

see all three of these games could be outsourced to small 3rd party studios as they are not that complex.

None of them because in this market, those would be as stupid as trying to sell an on rails Star Fox game.

Sorry, but comments like these are 100% what is wrong with gaming and gamers today.

What would you suggest Nintendo put out? An FPS perhaps? Or a game like Uncharted/Infamous/The Last of Us? Or some other manner of "realistic action/shooter game"? I suppose they should make shit just like everyone else to be successful, yes?

A non on-rails Star fox would be better as it would cater to a new generation. Story + free flying + flying missions + ground missions (a hybrid of metroid, zelda and freelancer style game)

Pilotwings, for me, one of the best games for N64.

It won't be Pilot Wings since every game in the franchise has been a launch game for a system; Pilot Wings for SNES, Pilot Wings 64 for N64, and Pilot Wings Resort for 3DS. Hoping for F-Zero or Star Fox.

So Nintendo announce that they are to make a brand new Wii U game using an underused franchise. They give you a choice of Wave Race, 1080 or Pilotwings, and ask the fans to vote which game they would like to be made.

Which gets your vote and why? which of the three games do you think is best suited to Wii U?

When did they announce this????

I won't even dignify an ignorant comment like this with a valid response. Quit getting so emotional.

It seems that non Nintendo gamers constantly call for Nintendo to conform and become more like Sony/Microsoft. Hit or miss, i love Nintendo because they offer something very different to the twins. Controversial i know, but i find Sony/Microsoft offerings very bland compared to what Nintendo offer, hence the reason im a Nintendo gamer.

Wave Race 64 and 1080° Snowboarding are some of my favourite games of all time but I never played the other Wave Race or 1080 games except for a few minutes so that I have no clue how they really were. Didn't like Pilotwings that much so that it would be one of these two but I can't really decide.

You just did "dignify" it by responding at all. And your attitude doesn't change the fact that I have a point.

People need to quit assuming they know exactly how the business runs, and how everything works. For all we know, considering there has been SUCH a long gap since an ACTUAL Star Fox game (and not experimental garbage) came out, that if done RIGHT, in HD, people would be very excited and eat it up. At least enough to make it a million seller. The 3DS remake of SF64, after all, sold over 700k. And logic would dictate that a NEW Star Fox, in the same exact mold of old, as it should be, in HD, with an epic new quest and a ton of all brand new content? Would probably do alright "in this day and age".

People assuming that any type of game wouldn't do well in the modern era "because reasons" is rather pointless. There's not actually any way of knowing how something would be received today until you try it. And the fact of the matter is, Star Fox is one of the more popular game franchises of all time, in spite of it only having really two stellar entries. And on that note, if sales are any indication, I would suggest that Nintendo experimenting/farming the series out, and having games that break far away from the traditional formula, is what made the series go downhill, in both quality and numbers.

I have heard it suggested that Nintendo should straight up turn SF into a Ratchet & Clank type of endeavor, with "maybe a few space flying shooter missions". Sorry, but that formula equaled the drizzling shits for Assault on GC. That is exactly why that game was so fucking awful, because quite frankly the TWO honestly to god SF levels in the game actually played really well. And even if that was "just Namco's fault", it's still honestly a terrible idea. There is an unlimited number of third person action/shooter games that have been released over the last two gens+ and counting. There have barely been any Star Fox type of games, IE 3D vehicle/space type shooters. So how could anyone predict how a WELL DONE HD Star Fox would do now? I seem to remember rumors of one being announced for Wii years ago being met with quite a lot of enthusiasm, and regardless, if Microsoft felt comfortable working with the original Panzer Dragoon creator on Crimson Dragon, the SAME exact type of game, minus the Dragoon name to cash in on, then Nintendo could certainly do well by the far more recognizable/popular Star Fox series.

But what would I know? Cheers.
