Well... Titanfall did have a bigger than expected effect in the US.

Yahh the Titanfall giveaway had a pretty big effect on hardware, more then i expected. But far lower from the halo like effect its big supporters wanted.

agreed, despite not having the HW sales wanted by M$ especially, these sales are good, and has had a huge effect. For X1 sake, lets hope it continuies 100k+ for another 3 weeks!

I was fairly close with my prediction honestly expected more EU sales, but maybe they didn't have the shipments to do so?

I will permaban myself if the game releases in 2014.

in reference to KH3 release date

Game sold good on One, but boost for Xbone is not very good or nice. Just good. Will drop very hard next week(s).

that i doubt, it has the look of a one week big bump and back to normal by the 3rd one after the game drops.

I say an official cut to 450 would be better this way people have more chocie to choose their game of choice.... A X1 at 450 and free Forza5 now that be a nice counter to the PS4.

155,106 vs. 74,441 is a 108% increase week over week.

am i wrong to be not all that impressed? i mean, for the GotG and for being this early in the generation where an exclusive game can have the highest amount of impact.

You know thats the US doing most of the heavy lifting. 13 countries for X1. PS4 has what...48?

And this is coming from me...it isn't exclusive. It is a "multiplat not on PS4".

13 vs 48 does not change a thing, the xbox one have good sales in only 2 countries : USA and UK. And it's already for sale in major markets. What significant changes do you expect by selling it 6 months late in small or hostile markets like Belgium or Japan ?

Anyway a 100% increase is very good, it just fell a lot too short for a game changer.

whoa. A day for the history books i'm sure ;)

Like those magical few weeks where 360 outsold PS3 in Japan. Miracles do happen :P

As a side not: Can people stop saying "Why buy the console game when its also on PC". Because clearly you have no idea what you are talking about. Console gaming for life! and by the looks of it, many also believe that.

You know, the funny thing is how I always call out everyone saying "it's not exclusive cuz you can get it on PC." I keep saying that most people here are naive and stupid for assuming that every person with PC has a gaming PC. Specially funny because it sold like crap on PC.

I love the desperate attempts from some here to downplay this success, because it is a success indeed :).

I, by no means, would say that selling 155k in a week isn't a success, but it's only a relative success (given the context). Yea, it boosted says by 108%, but that's the problem with percentages. Going from 1 to 2 is a 100% increase. What I'm trying to say is that XBone numbers weren't that great to begin with so to laud "look at that boost!" ignores the fact that it's not hard to go from less than stellar sales to good sales. It's hard to go from good sales to great sales. If a new Mario came out next week and the WiiU jumped to 70k, would you call that a success? Yea, sales doubled, but doubling a lower number isn't that great in the grand scheme of things. That's what I mean by a relative success.

I remember a time in this forum when selling anything less 100k a week meant your sales were poor (this was mostly an anti-PS3 position since it's sales neared dipping below 100k, so to make it look worse, Xbox fans would say <100K bad, >100k good, because 360 was consistently above 100k), and now those same people are going nuts for 150k for a game that was massively hyped, bundled for free, and had a price cut in a region? Please don't mind my skepticism of this "success" when looking at the big picture.

For right now, though, it's a great thing.

im in the same boat as you i see the numbers and im like, oh thats not bad but shouldnt it have been way more.  it also makes me think this bump isng going to last long.  my prediction for next weeks numbers will be X1 will struggle to hit 100k worldwide and the PS4 will hit easy 150k if not more with the release of Infamous.

for those saying 13 vs 48 territories just know some of those "territories" are places like bermuda which probably account for .01% of overall sales.

Wise man

Its a one week bump, dont get ahead of your self.

Even for all its Titan might, X1 faield to slow down the PS4 juggernaut.   X1 doing better is big, but it having no neg effect on PS4 shows that given enough supply PS4 will likely kill it still.  X1 need a offical price cut, a long term sales bump not a limited time game give away.  Unless they plan to do this with every big game release, X1 and free Destiny could be intereesting.

118% boost in USA is pretty good, and thats a damn good opening for Titanfall on Xbox One.

We already know UK numbers, sort of.

Now to see how things are in the rest of Europe.
