Forums - Nintendo - Why streaming and cloud computing will be NINTENDOs winner in the end

Ever since nintendo has been in the console business they had to create their userbase before they could sell their games.
The idea being that on a bigger userbase you sell more software.
Envision this within a reasonable amount of years everyone will have good internet and tvs with multimedia functions.
Nintendo could allow their users to stream their games from a serverpark without us needing to pay for a console.

Benefits for us :
No need to buy a console
No limitations on computing power will deliver amazing gameplay and groundbreaking new games
only focus on games, thus more games in general!!!

Disadvantage for nintendo:
no royalties from 3rd party games, there are so many of those

Does this even make sense?

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I would never buy games from a streaming service, you have no protection of your purchase.  I spend hundreds of dollars on games and then Nintendo could shut down the service at any time.

With how Nintendo does online, I doubt they are thinking or willing to do anything with cloud anytime soon... Heck, your account is still tied to your console which I know they are working on but jeez, hurry up!

Also, what happened to the tits on ur avatar? :/

Nintendo would first have to realize the internet exists.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Wait so coming late to the party will work to their advantage?

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

The problem is cloud game streaming is a VERY EXPENSIVE service to maintain. Every resources are FINITE and this also includes computing resources too which means EVERY SYSTEM has their limits and this also applies to super computers so their is no such thing as "unlimited" power but some PC elitists FAIL to realize this.

Another problem with cloud computing is whether or not customers are going to demand HIGHER RESOLUTIONS for cloud gaming. Streaming a game @ 4K 60FPS even with the newest video codecs such as H 265 or VP9 takes a very fast connection speeds and the current average internet speeds won't get the job done and it will be a very long time until the average internet speeds increase dramatically to support that endeavor.

I'm not saying this is gonna happen soon, but since nintendo makes the best games we will benefit from it in the end

Don't really think this is likely.
