Forums - Sony - Sony Pictures Shutters Interactive Division, Prepare to announce layoffs in Studio Operations

Unfortunate but necessary for Sony. They clearly have a vision and they obviously must downsize their corporation to the point of large scale layoffs. It will take time to recoup the losses that Sony corp. has suffered for the past 5-7 years. But Sony has been around a very long time, longer than most other tech giants and if they know how to do one thing right it is adapt.

Changed title of the thread to reflect title/content of the article you posted. Don't go being a tabloid now.

Also, you could at least wait for a few replies before you start attacking the character of Sony fans, huh?

What attacks on the characters of Sony fans did I make?

Changing the thread title is nice and all but anyone entering the thread will see the troll comments in the OP with just a link and no substance and no moderation tagbut Sony is in a desperate situation financially

Dude this sentence, is what everyone is making a fuss about.
"Sony fans continue to ignore the desperate financial situation their favorite company faces as massive layoffs are announced."

You mean, you can't tell anything wrong with this?

People's subsequent responses have highlighted for me that people who are supportive of Sony are continuing to attempt to ignore the significance of the company's financial woes. This is just the latest massive layoff or capital selloff in the last couple months. If the latest Sony Xperia phone doesn't do well, expect even more news like this.

I would call 1,000 employees being laid off massive. I would call people's responses ("this doesn't affect my gaming") ignoring the problem. They aren't bad people because they don't care, but it might quickly impact their gaming. I guess it was kind of misguided for me to call Sony gaming fans' favorite gaming company. Maybe I should have said 'Sony fans continue to downplay the potential impact of the company's financial situation on the future of their gaming console,' but I really do object to the idea that I was massively out of line.

What are half of the responses here but ways of downplaying the potential impact of this news to their gaming? I mean... that's exactly what I meant and I've been proven right.

How can you call it a troll comment? Do you honestly think I should be moderated for posting this news? I've never seen any of the negative comments or threads about the Xbox One moderated. Not one. I'm sure some have been, but I've seen countless outright rude posts about the other two systems. I do not feel that I was being rude.

Their movie division isn't their video game division. Last I checked, their video game division is doing fine.

Come back and tell me when Sony is on the cusp of selling it's Playstation division. If this doesn't affect the PS division then I don't care.

fine,I'll go and watch spiderman 2 in the cinemas. hope my $8 helps.

Yes, troll comments should be moderated and its very clear your intentions in the OP as Sony fans are irrelevant to the news you are reporting but Sony is in a desperate situation financially
